I read about 150 pages of it and then had to return it to the library. Although it was fairly interesting, I wasn't compelled to keep reading it. It seemed to progress rather vaguely, going on and on. Perhaps it was the strangeness of the foreign names. They didn't stick in my mind.

The cruelty which the people had to endure in China because of the political battles left a strong impression on me.

Perhaps I'll borrow the book from the library again sometime and finish reading it. I'd like to know how it ends.
