Maze discussion

Okay, you are in one of King Henry's multiple castles. Your goal is to lay low, and try not to catch the kings attention, if you can. If you are summonded to his throne, expect trouble. I will be Henry...

Irena Magdalene walked through the castle stealthily.

Winifred was in her room, looking at her pretty French dresses. Many of them weren't considered English Court Fashion, but she couldn't part with them. She hugged them, and twirled around. This was goibg to be interesting. Teaching the Kings own children...

Irena suddenly remembered her new sapphires. They would go perfectly with the blue silk dress for dinner, which was what she should be getting ready for now. She sighed and hurried back to her quarters. She loved having her own suite, instead of having to share with her awful husband. Momentarily stiffening at the thought of him, she relaxed and put on the low silk dress and the sapphires and went downstairs for dinner, rounding up the children as she did so.

Wnnie pulled something presentable on, and walked to the dining hall. She knew the king would be there...

Irena sat across from the new arrival at dinner. "Hello, I'm Irena," she said quietly.

Winifred smiled. "Hello...Nice to meet you...I'm Winfred. Come to impress or serve?" She laughed.

"What do you mean?" asked Irena, shaking her head slightly with the air of a confused person. ((you know...like looking sideways then the other sideways?))

((Yeah))
"Oh...most people enter court like only to be seen...are you one of those people?"

"No, of course not!" Irena looked shocked and hurt. "No, my husband is a duke and my father was the king's brother," she explained. "And your reason?"

"A tutor...to the royal children...boring, I know..." She looked at the assortment of food, and shuttered.

Thalia walked through the dining hall. She saw two people. "Hello."

"Why, welcome to the table! Do have a seat..." Winnie smiled, and took out a book.

"Thank you, miss." Thalia sat down. "My name is Thalia."

"Thank you, miss." Thalia sat down. "My name is Thalia."

"Nice to meet you...care for some food?" She passed her a steaming vat of brewing sheep intestine with care.

((EW GROSS!!!))

"Sure. Thank you, again," Thalia accepting the food and spooning some on her plate.

((Hehe....common meal))
Winnie's plate remained empty. She flipped a page with care

((*Barf))

Thalia ate polietly.

Winnie nodded, understanding the story.

Thalia finished, full to her stomach. "That was wonderful. Thank you very much."

Winnie kept reading. She stood up, book in hand, and turned the last page, and shouted. "Yes! Matilda! You...you...you did it!" She said, excitedly.

Thalia laughed. "Exciting book?"

"Yes! you see, Matilda....oh, nevermind..."

Thalia smiled. "Well, I must get going." She left 5 coins on the table. "That's for dinner."

"Uh...you can't..." She followed her.

"Can't leave? Why?"

"You must stay...the king has yet to show himself..."

"Oh! I almost forgot! I am so very sorry."

"No...I just want you to stay..." She motioned for her to return. Her book was settled on the table, and she pushed it away, and grabbed a biscuit.

Irene looked at the book. "What is that volume, if you don't mind me inquiring?"

"A novel...all the rage. Midnight Clammer Girl....quite a good read."

Thalia sat back down. "Oh! Hello there," Thalia said, looking at Irena.

Winnie passed the book to her, and turned to the row of chairs behind her. Nobles and Dukes, Duchesses and Ladies...She felt alone...and unnoble

"Oh, how interesting!" Irena read a few pages, then passed it back to Winnie wistfully. "I must look into that!" she said. "Oh, I love your dress!" she exclaimed suddenly. "Is it Parisian?"

"Ah, yes! Your dress is absolutely lovely!"

"Yes..." Winnie nodded. "Thank you..." all of a sudden, the King appeared, arm in arm with Catherine of Aragon, his wife. They sat at the throne.

Thalia quieted as she looked at the King.

"Oh, dear." Irena stiffened.

The king stood, and smiled. "Hello...Enjoying yourselves, I hope, England! Let it continue! Don't act modest because you are graced with my presence! Eat and be merry!" He raised his goblet and the crowd errupted.

Thalia sipped a bit of wine.

Winnie, threw her biscuit to a dog, who greatfully lapped it. She sighed, and placed her arms on the table. Another coarse arrived.

Irena twisted the napkin on her lap and glared at the king.

Thalia twiddled her thumbs.

The king returned to his seat, and grabbed his wifes hand gently.

Thalia was still young and had much to learn. The king had many wives.

Winnie nodded, and smiled. "So..the king is dashing? Am I right?"
