I know at least one person is interested in this topic, so I figure there are probably more! Any Balkan royalty lovers out there who'd care to recommend some of their favorite Balkan books?

Marie of Romania;: The intimate life of a twentieth century queenby Terence ElsberryI found this in a google search and my library has it. It is all I have so far thanks for putting this up. Sara
I haven't read anything about Balkan Royalty...I've found that I really prefer the more "civilized" countries - England, France, Spain - to the "wilder" ones. I also prefer the older royals - pre-18th century.
What were the Balkan countries like then?
Most of the Balkan countries "adopted" the royals from other European countries or elevated them to kings when they were minor German princes or dukes.Greece's royals are still regarded as princes of Denmark
That is true most of the kings and queens that are from the Balkans either married British,French or Spanish or those countries went and married Balkan royals. some of the royals are linked to Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth and QEI husband is Greek which is a Mediterranean country. It's hard to find stuff because there is little on the subject.http://forum.alexanderpalace.org/inde...

Thanks I'll def put this in my long TBR. I've got 3 books lined up atm I'm reading one from the library, then there is a 2nd from the library and then the book my mom just bought was another on my TBR. So I have a lot to read and some books are not at my public library. So they will have to stay on there until they do show up at the library. But this will go on my TBR.
Romania has nothing to do with Balkan. I'm from Bosnia and bosnia was a kingdom. But they were take over by the Ottomans.
The Balkan PeninsulaThe Balkan Peninsula, as defined by the Danube-Sava-Kupa line.
The Balkan Peninsula is an area of southeastern Europe surrounded by water on three sides: the Adriatic Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea (including the Ionian and Aegean seas) to the south and the Black Sea to the east. Its northern boundary is often given as the Danube, Sava and Kupa rivers.[6][7]
