Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 163 comments I don't believe war is the solution, but with the way the world is run war is unavoidable so you kinda have to face reality and prepare for it if necessary including investing time in it.

Jerry | 850 comments Humans' response to any troubling situation is war. Why is that? Every time there's an issue, there's usually a war coming up. It's like against human nature to settle anything peacefully.

message 3: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments True...So I guess, though war is terrible, it does have benefits. You know, buying weapons and supplies and things like that.

message 4: by Smog1997 (new)

Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 163 comments See there's a good in every bad

message 5: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments But war is especially bad, and I'm positive the economy would survive without it. War also destroys the economy.

message 6: by Diana (new)

Diana As the great author Mark Twain said:

"God created war so that Americans would learn geography."

I think we should do everything to prevent war, but sometimes you gotta fight.

message 7: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments When would war be acceptable?

message 8: by Smog1997 (new)

Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 163 comments when the other sider isn't willing to do things the peaceful way

message 9: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments That still isn't acceptable. The other side is to blame, but it's still unacceptable.

message 10: by Diana (new)

Diana Well, if the other side isn't working with you and the results of that could be bad, then that's a reason to fight. Also if you're being attack.

message 11: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments But that's still not acceptable. The other side, I mean.

it could be acceptable to regain lands that were stolen in another war and to protect yourself against terrorists that are attacking but not on a war front

message 13: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) "I'm positive the economy would survive without it. War also destroys the economy. "

WWII more or less was the main reason we got out of the Depression.

message 14: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments WWII resulted in millions of deaths, more than the Depression ever would have.

message 15: by Diana (last edited Apr 26, 2011 06:42PM) (new)

Diana Yes, but one of the reasons WW2 started is because Germany was attacking other countries AND killing many innocent people. The Allies fought to stop that.

message 16: by meri (new)

meri (meri_is_a_saltedfish) | 127 comments But war justifies Peace and the memories we had of war stops our countries from trying to wage war against each other.

message 17: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) Hitler sucked and nothing peaceful was going to stop him.

message 18: by Smog1997 (new)

Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 163 comments yeah, America didn't have to join, but them staying out of the war wasn't going to help anybody. so even though it meant lost of lives, not that its worth it, but otherwise Hitler could have ended up dominating the entire world. Kinda like what megamarie said in order to get to peace, you sometimes need to have war.

sad as it is to admit it, its part of human nature and instinct to always want more, to want to feel more powerful and to want to control, and all these things lead to war in the end

message 20: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments I know. How did that originate?!

message 21: by Cody (new)

Cody (rolinor) War is unavoidable, it is caused due to so many things the number one reason being religion.

Cody wrote: "War is unavoidable, it is caused due to so many things the number one reason being religion."

religion is an excuse, not necessarily a reason

message 23: by Cody (new)

Cody (rolinor) That's basically what I mean, people have been killing in the name of their god since men created gods.
