Nicki and Chris were new to the foster home, only had been there for a few days. There mother and father started fighting again and Nicki got hit and thats when Chris lost it and then suddenly they were both in foster care.
Nicki sighed and said softly"I don't wanna be here Chris."
Chris said"Did you want to get hit again?"and looked at her.
She said"No."
"Then be happy we at least had somewhere to go, like a roof over our heads and food."
Nicki nodded

Alec was in his room, staring at the floor. He had been up there almost all day, going downstairs only when he was hungry or had to go to the bathroom. He was fairly new to this foster home, being here only a week. So far it was pretty good. He hadn't met anyone who he disliked, yet. Which was a plus.

Chris got up and said"I'm going to go to my room."
Nicki didn't say anything or nod.
Chris sighed and walked up the stairs to see Alec, he knew he had a roommate but didn't know who it was because Chris was never usually in the room"Hey."said Chris not in a cheerful ton but not sad either.
Nicki laid down on the couch and wanted to go somewhere to meet someone new, just to get to know them.

Alec looked up, but quickly looked back down. "Hi," he replied, quietly. He was seceretly sort of glad to have a roommate, he always liked having them. It gave him someone to talk to and gave him oppritunity to make a friend or two.

Chris said"My names Chris...whats yours?" He wasn't quite sure what to say, he never really talked to a kid as young as this kid looked, young or not Chris was still a little nervous and you could tell because he was messing around with his hands behind his back and looking around the room a lot.
Nicki got up from the couch and let out a huge sigh and walked outside, looking around she didn't see anyone her age.

"Alec," he replied. There was an akward pause for a few moments. "So... Umm how old are you?" he asked, trying to get a conversation going. Although je didn't talk much, Alec hated uncomfortable silences more than most things.

"I'm seventeen."Chris said"How old are you?" like Alec he hated silence, especially when it was awkward. He tried his best to keep the conversation going, hoping Alec and him had some interests.
Nicki sat on a step outside of the house and looked down at her toes touching them because she had gotten a manicure and pedicure before she was put in the foster home, and she really like it.

"I just turned 14 like a month ago, I think," said Alec, with a nod. "Do you like sports?" asked Alec, deciding to find something in common with Chris. He assumed that would make the conversations easier.

Chris smiled and wasn't so nervous anymore"Yea, dude do you?" he was suddenly excited and ready to go outside and play football or maybe some soccer.
Nicki smiled at her toes still not looking up, she started to day dream as the sun hit her at an angle, half her body was warmer then the other half.

Savannah sighed and looked at her nails.

Jackson turne up the volume on his iPod and flipped through a magazine.

Nicki looked up and saw a guy(jackson) and just watched him.

Layla sat on her bed writing in her notebook

Jackson stared at the magazine while listening to Linkin Park. He wire worn out jeans and a faded t-shirt.

Alec looked up, smiling slightly. "Yea. I like hockey and football," he said, also not feeling so nervous and not as shy anymore.

Jared was laying upside down on the couch, watching tv. He hadn't been too productive that day. He got in trouble for being to loud, and that was just about it.

Layla walked over and sat down on the couch by Jared

Savannah saw Alec and swooned. A light draft made her hair blow and her eyes sparkled in the sunlight.

Chris said"Wanna go play some football?"he was pumped up and excited.
Nicki kept looking at Jackson and then stood up and when she stood up her phone dropped out of her pocket making some noise, she blushed hoping he didnt hear she hated making things point out towards her, and she bent down to pick it up quickly and looked threw the window seeing someone now laying on the couch.

Jackson looked up and saw Nicki. He smiled and turned down his music. "Hey." He said lazily.

Nicki looked back and said"Oh hey." she looked down quickly, even though she was pretty she didn't think she was and she didn't think she could make friends very easily.

Layla stole the remote from Jared and started watching a kiddy show.

Alec nodded. "Sure! Soubds fun," he said with a smile, standing up. He was also quite excited about meeting someone with the same interests as him.

Jared looked over at Layla, and sat up properly. "Hey," he greeted.

Chris said"Cool."he waited a few seconds and said"Its kinda like your my lil brother, you know? its kinda cool." Chris smiled as they went down the stairs to go outside

Savannah quickly walked over to Alec. "Hey." She blushed lightly and her fingers couldn't stop moving.

Jackson blinked. "Watcha doin' here?" He asked quietly.

" Hi thanks for the remote " smother Layla

"Ive never had an older brother before," Alec said, following dowstairs, smiling to himself. He had always thought it would have been cool to have a siblling.

Nicki suddenly got nervous and said"It's no reason...it just doesn't matter." She didn't want to tell people about her dad hitting her and her family situations, she thought maybe she would tell him later when she knew him more.
Chris smiled and said"Yea I think it's cool." A girl had stopped them in there tracks and had said hey to Alec, Chris waited for him to say something back to her.

"Sit with me." He glanced at the chair next to him. Jackson gave her a welcoming glint in his eyes.

Alec stared at the girl. He paused a moment before saying. "Hey." He felt his cheeks grow warm as he started to blush.

Jared looked at the remote in Layla's hand. "Your welcome," Jared said.

" So what are you going to do now that you can't Watch sportscenter " said Layla

Chris smiled and said"Dude I will be right back im thirsty, just stay here. and he left Alec and the girl alone.
Nicki went over and sat next to him and smiled at him kinda. You could tell she was nervous because she was messing with her hands like her brother did when he was nervous.

"I'm Savannah, but you can call me Sav." She held out her hand. She had a mischievous glow to her skin.

"Name's Jackson." He introduced himself casually.

Alec shook her hand, watching Chris leave, before returning his attention to Savannah. "Im Alec," he said.

Jared shrugged. "Im not really sure."

"Are you new here?" Sav asked. She loved to meet new people.

She smiled and said"Mines Nicki!" in a peppy ton, she loved to say her name.
Chris got a glass of water and sat in the kitchen drinking it.

" Your in a good mood today " smiled Layla her pale eyes sparkling

Jackson coughed. "How old are you?"

Nicki said"Im 17...how old are you?" she looked at him trying to be more confident in herself all of the sudden.

Alec shrugged. "Sort of. I've been here about a week, give or take a few days. What about you?" he asked.

Jared nodded with a smile. "Yeaa. I'm just amazing like that."

" Oh quit showing off " laughed Layla her small 8 year old body lying om the couch softly kicking him on the leg

"Since I was 3." Sav said sadly. She never knew her parents.

Jackson nodded. "Cool. I'm 18." He said.

Nicki said"Thats cool."she waited a few seconds and said"I will be 18 in 4 months."

"That's gotta be nice." He remembered when he turned 18. It was sort of sad.

Nicki said"Yea I guess, my friends and I...we don't really like our families, so when we were little we would always joke about how we would get married right when we turn 18."she laughed
