Hey! Well, I'm Katie or Kat if that's easier! I've played piano almost ten years now, and I actually started before I could read, so I could read music notes before anything else!

I am like in love with my piano. . .It's over 100 years old! lol

So, tell us about yourself!

I am Jenny and I have only played the piano for a year but I enjoy Singing and musical theater

That's about how long my brother has played! Trust me, once you play about 4 years everything becomes so much fun!

Hi! My names Sara and Ive been playing for like a year or so. I'm slowly but surely making progress but I'm my own teacher so that kinda explains it. They say once you learn your first instrument the second one is easier and they are so right. I've been playing the clarinet for at least 3 years and am the proud section leader of the clarinets. I'm also a little weird but that's a plus right? Anywaz I love music and espessially making it with my friends.

Wow! Nice job Sara! I have had a teacher ten years, but right now I'm not in the best of health, so I'm taking a break...plus my sister, Allison plays at a pro level so she helps me too.

Hi :) I'm Kait. I don't actually play piano, but I'd love to learn. What Sara said about learning one instrament making the next easier is hopefully true, because I've been playing guitar for about 9 months and I think once I've hit a year I think I'm going to switch to piano for a while. the music is basically the same, so hopefully I will learn :)

Yes, she used to play 4+ hours a day. I'm now playing around 2 if I can manage. (:

Hey Kait! Welcome! Playing piano is actually easy at first, it's just a matter of learning your notes! Do you have a piano? I highly recommend learning! It's so rewarding when getting a song down!

yeah, I really do hope to learn. I don't have a piano. I get what you mean about finally getting a song down, its an amazing feeling.

Buy one! lol but if you're getting a keyboard (Electric piano) make sure it has the full 88 keys. If you go far in piano, you will need them all!

my brother had that but he grew out of it. hopefully u do too.

Hopefully! I've had it almost five months. It sucks. But on the bright side, I've lost weight! lol

no piano players i know (granted, I don't know many, but I still know some) like scales, I think it's because they're incredibly repetitive and boring. So what kind of songs does everyone like playing, and any favourite composers?

I like playing really fast and loud songs....and i really like schubert and beethoven!

Haha, oh my goodness! Scales are fun! You can push yourself to see how fast you can go without messing up. I'm a nerd. Sue me. lol

Cool, well I guess that's a pretty fun thing about scales :)

I quite like some Chopin (although I can't play any of his music properly!), Bach, Mozart and I'm quite liking Kabalevsky.

IKR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I played the original version for a recital 4 times my memory!!!!!!!!!!

BTW Beethoven's birthday was on December 16.

:O Fur Elise is my favorite song to play on the piano, currently! xD I taught it to myself in less than a week, lol.
