nice to meet you too julia!! i do japanese, i was FORCED to quit chinease and i used to do german,french and italian. i love languages!
There's hiragana (Japanese characters), romaji (english... eg. konnichiwa こんにちは)and Katakana (Japanese but words taken from other languages). I am learning Hiragana at the moment.... I don't need romaji to understand what characters are but we learn katakana next year because it's a lot hardeer
Well not me. But I would love to learn.
nah! katagana is very simialr to hirigana a most bit of the time!! the romanji for both is the same.i have been learning it for 2 years and 5 months!!
Katakana - used for english words eg. ベッキ (my name)Hiragana - Used for Japanese words eg. こんにちわ (hello)
Romaji - used to write japanese in english
eg. konnichiwa
こんにちわ
I want to learn Japanese.... I've only been able to learn a few from anime, and I don't know how to write them in the symbols... Only Romanji.
こんいちは。Hello Hello people. I just joined the group. And I speak Japanese, well I have been learning it for about 3 or so years. :)
SAME!!! I've been to Japan twice (though the second one... Erm... Didn't turn out so well for me...) and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!:3
Tori= Chicken/bird
My mother and father studied Japanese and lived in Japan for a year, so they both speak it (my mum's better XP) and I've grown up with Japanese culture ^.^And I picked up quite a bit of language, though I can't read it...
"Nama beeru o kudasai!"
みなさん、こんにちは (minasan, konnichiwa) hello everyone.I'm bored...so I am just going to write out how you count to ten in Japanese. Seeing I am trying to avoid finishing this speech on Japan that needs to be done by Tuesday.
ichi=one
ni=two
san=three
shi/yon=four
go=five
roku=six
shichi/nana=seven
hachi=eight
kyuu=nine
juu=ten
Some other random stuff:
hello=konnichiwa
good morning=ohayoo gazaimasu(ohio gaz-i-mas)
good afternoon=koNbaNwa
thank you=domo arigato
Ooh, and when you say hello when you answer the phone in Japanese you say...moshi moshi. :P
Anyways, that might have helped a few people. But know i have to go do school work...save me!! :(

Ooh, I love some of the names of animals in Japanese. My favourite is probably choo choo...which means butterfly.
I can help with basic Japanese, the stuff you need in everyday simple conversations ^-^O kudasai (sorry, sucky spelling XP)= Ordering something
Ok...Well to introduce yourself you would say
Watashi no namae wa Zoe desu
(To look at how to say each word go to Google Translate :D)
XD and at the end of peoples names you use san (any one), chan (kind of like cute), kun (for boy), sama (some one abouve you), sempia (some one older than you, it's respectfull but you don't have to use it!) and heaps more!
