I'm sure you've all heard about the devastating tornadoes that roared through the U.S. southern states this week. You may not know that Smithville, Missippi, a small town virtually wiped off the map by a monster EF-5 tornado, is the hometown of Misty Jo, one of the long-time members of the old EJ/JQ Board. Several members of Misty Jo's family were directly impacted by the storm. Her aunt and uncle (Mr. & Mrs. Estis in the attached article) were killed. Her grandmother (the woman found by the railroad tracks) is in critical condition. Please keep Misty Jo and her family in your thoughts and, if you pray, all prayers for them and everyone affected by these storms would be appreciated.

Thanks for this, PJ. I think we probably haven't even gotten a final death toll from these storms yet. I've been thinking about Misty and her family since I heard.
Oh my goodness, this is so awful. I am so sorry for Misty Jo and will definitely be praying for her and her family. Is there anything we can do to help?
I've been keeping Misty and her family in my prayers. We had special prayer at my church yesterday for all the victims of these devastating storms.
How dreadful! I'm so sorry to hear about Misty's loss. The devastation of these tornadoes is jaw dropping. I'll keep MistyJo and her family in my prayers along with all the other survivors.
Naima, I'm thinking Red Cross donations are the way to go but I've sent a message to Misty Jo to ask.On the "good news" front, her grandmother is doing much better!
For anyone so inclined: Misty suggested donations to the Salvation Army. There's a box on their site where you can direct a donation. Key in "Smithville, Mississippi."
