So is this kind of like roleplaying where you only control your character?

This is a substitution for Roleplaying. Instead of Roleplaying we will be doing something like it, where we control our own part of the story and the story is connected, but the characters don’t play off each other.
What you do is you just write off of yourself on a topic that will be expansive and can apply to make characters being there.
EX) If there was a Chapter story about the Olympics, then one person would write about their person being in the Olympics’ events. The next person that would write would tell a story about their OWN character being in the Olympics. They would be both in the same year of Olympics, so instead of having to wait for people to respond, you can just play off of your previous passage written.
So if you wrote about your character being in 3 events in the Olympics, you could do the first event in one post, training in another, and so on.
It is sort of like “Pass on Stories” but instead of only one side of the story being shown and everyone controlling everyone, this if where one person controls one character and we only play off ourselves.
If you would like to continue off of someone or use their character in your writing, please consult them for their approval first.
Starting a Chapter Story:
Pick a topic that can have a variety of characters, that do not run into eachother
Exs)
The destruction of a large city
Olympics
Hospital
On a Journey out at see
On a different planet
Then what you are going to need to do is describe what is being done.
Ex) if for the Olympic one, you would want to post something like
It is the Summer Olympic events, everyone has been in an intense mood because the stakes are so high. The competition is more fierce than ever and you (or your character) will do anything to win gold.
Something so that the people that start writing their passages, can start and have a general idea what the ultimate goal of their writing is.
