It seems as if Oskar's Grandparents are going to let their troubles and pain from the past bombing where they lost love ones dictate actions for the rest of their lives. By not really talking about what happened they seemed to keep everything from the past to themselves. Do you think Oskar is going to behave the same way in regards to losing his father in 9/11? Or do you think he could possibly find the answers to his questions, remember the past, but carry on life with out letting the past dictate his future?Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Russell | 7 comments In my opinion I think that Oskar would be able to move on and not dwell on the past like his grandparents do. I feel that by trying to find the answer to his questions about the key he's trying to hold on to that last little mystery that his dad left him and that by constantly searching for the key he feels closer to him. But I don't think that Oskar will dwell on the past I think that once he finds out the answer to the mystery of the key he will feel a sense of satisfaction, recognize the tragedy that had befallen on him and ultimately move on with a renewed perspective on life.

Tucker | 6 comments i think that Mr. Black will have a positive influence on him and will help him move on. or he will bottle up his emotions like he has mentioned doing already

I agree, I think Mr. Black is going to influence Oskar to either move on or lead him in the direction of what he is really trying to get out of this unknown quest.

Tucker | 6 comments speaking of mr. black, werent you guys expecting stan the doorman to be more excited to meet him?!

Yeah, it was a pretty awkward encounter! Stan the doorman is just to cool for him I guess.

Tucker | 6 comments yeah it was weird, i was thinking 'youre the doorman man, and this is probably the one dude in the building you dont already know, and now youre meeting him, get pumped!' but he was really not into it which kinda bummed me out

Russell | 7 comments About Mr. Black I guess I'll just try to play the devil's advocate but when he finally decides to stop helping Oskar with his quest doesn't Oskar seem to want to stop and instead causes Oskar more anger and frustration?

Have we read that far yet? I mean I've finished, but I didn't think we were there with the reading schedule yet. I do think that this inspires Oscar to keep going, I think he was almost getting bored with his quest because it wasn't leading him any where exciting. Now I feel like he just got his fire turned on again, and he will want to make something out of his quest.

Russell | 7 comments I think we have read that far but I'm not entirely sure.
