i didnt even find out until recently - i was actually out with friends this whole morning! - but when i heard my mum say bin laden is dead i couldnt believe it so i checked online of course and she was right! very happy that he cant spread any more unhappiness throughout the world!

I do hate him, sooooooooooooo bad...
I really do think he didn't deserve to die the way he did. He should have been through more pain.

i guess considering all that he's done but i think in the end the fact that bin laden is unable to inflict any more pain is the main thing

I have mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand, it's a bit of a relief. I mean, finally. And I think it's funny that it happened on the anniversary of Bush's 'Mission Accomplished' speech, which was such a flop, and I can see it really helping Obama in the next election which, IMHO, is a good thing.

On the other hand the national reaction reminds me of something out of 1984. It's like Bin Laden was our Emmanuel Goldstein, the person everyone hated but no one knew, that insidious corruptive force...

And really, I'd rather not be partying over anyone's death, even his. So I guess in summary: Relieved, but not celebratory.

i was just reading an article that said in NY crowds were chanting the "hey hey goodbye" song? were you there?
and i was watching the obama speech that he gave announcing that bin laden was dead, and obama didnt look that happy? he looked kinda sad actually - just my opinion though. he might have jumping for joy on the inside :)

Lucky! Kids at my school suck lol My teacher was all happy dancing though. She made us sing songs and watch the news. She was beyond happy cause her sister was killed in the war. I guess she kinda thought of it as her justice, right?
