Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Well he's dead! Or is he? Where's the proof? It couldve been any guy who looked kinda like him. How could they do a DNA test to confirm that it's the right guy? Did they have his DNA? Why are they blurring the pictures of him on tv?

What do you think?

What's gonna happen next?

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) So much unseemly celebrating over chopping off one of the Hydra's many heads, it means nothing, it's a hollow symbol that will not usher in a new era of peace, that is the sad reality.

Sadly America and the West will still be terrorist targets due to prejudicial foreign policy, a penchant to prop up puppet governments and siphon off natural resources from an embattled country, they helped plunge into turmoil in the first place and double standards that contradict the public face of the so called interests in protecting the world. Screwing the small contries over is in the best interests of who exactly?Hypocrist needs to be eliminated before justice can be truly said to have been done.

Oh and I'm sure that they're not aware, but by publicly displaying the inhumane treatment of his body and intending to dispose of him into the sea, America is providing a wonderful leading piece in the Al Qaeda recruitment campaign,so things are going to get worse more than likely.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I would like to point out that, although it was a burial at sea, it was still a proper burial, and that burying him this way eliminates the opportunity for Al Qaeda supporters to worship his body by building shrines and such.

message 4: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) True but how do you think it'll be perceived by hardliners worldwide? But it was always going to be problematic, but it's inevitable with someone who divides opinions so sharply that there is always going to be something that people will rally around and label an injustice. Just saying what we know to be true.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Fair point. I do think that now the middle east is going to be a little less than friendly to us from now on, if not outright hostile to the point of attack. I wouldn't be surprised if they attacked really.

message 6: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Yes, unfortunately, I think the West is on high alert for a retaliation, I shudder to think in what shape it will be. Considering that by and large the Middle East is a seething hotbed of anti-American sentiment or a bloated, sleepy bed of opulence-induced apathy, I think it grossly unfair that it will be innocent citizens who will pay the price for the West's duplicity and deception.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Is it? I had not heard....I could definitely see why they would target the West coast though. I used to live on Camp Pendleton in southern CA since my dad is a Marine, they're the largest Marine base on the west coast, not to mention the Air force and Naval bases all over there. I shudder to think of another Pearl Harbor.....

message 8: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Well I see what you mean but I wasn't referring to Western US specifically, but the West in general, including Europse and the US, I guess only those intelligence ghouls have real info about possible targets but I think they must be expecting some kind of reaction, they'd be idiots not to.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, sorry, that's me being dumb there :p

I have a hard time seeing why they would go after Europe though... And your right they would be stupid not to, especially if a teenager can figure it out!

message 10: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Well I think they would consider any of America's allies, active or tacit, in the War on Terror to be fair game for their murderous vendettas. It's natural to crack down on security to protect the people, but I just hope no poor Muslim falls victim to prejudicial treatment from the powers that be just because they have a Muslim name. Protection; yes, paranoia; no. Will paranoia win? Sadly yes.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I see I see. And sadly I also have to agree on the paranoia. People are too judgmental and jump to conclusions.

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments No one likes Osama bin Laden that's for sure. Except probably his family and the Al Qaeda members.

I don't know, some people say that the US troops have been in Afghanistan for many years without gaining anything so before Obama was elected president he promised to send them back soon so they elected him and I dunno, something about them taking oil and then since he needed to bring the people back he said to fake osama death so people will think they were successful. Yeah somethig along those lines.

And that first picture looks awfully fake. Sorry :P

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, Im sorry, but honestly, how can you say that one video means that Osama's death was faked? I agree with Lindsay, no evidence. At all.

message 15: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) It's not just the video, think about it, what proof is there that he really is dead? Details of the raid? I'm sure it could be scripted, pictures? They can be photoshopped. Has the press been allowed to look at his actual body? No. Why was he so quickly buried at sea? It's not the Muslim way and it's bound to ignite the anger of extremists. Saying it was to prevent his tomb from being made a shrine sounds like convenient spin to me, and it provides a convenient reason to hide any possible deception. I'm not saying that he's alive but there are flaws in the evidence. That's all I'm saying, I just want the truth, as I'm sure many other do.

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Lindsay. I specifically said that SOME PEOPLE SAY.

I don't even know what to believe anymore. The world is so screwed up.

tell me about it. if anyone is interested, in a nutshell, thats what the 'Media' topic is about. you can skip the long article and go to the discussion questions at the end of the first post :)

I found this article saying that Bin Laden actually died of marfan syndrome in 2001. I'm not sure it's true, but I'm positive that, after all the precautions Bin Laden has done all his life, he wouldn't be so easy to kill. He would kill himself before America did. Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments Haha

also because no country wanted his body

message 23: by Ross (last edited May 05, 2011 06:06PM) (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Why weren't the press allowed to photograph the body, aside from the common decency I feel should be exhibited towards a human being, terrorist or not. I'm not saying I give the conspiracy theories any credence but it's awfully convenient that all we have is the American governments 'evidence' which for all we know could be an elaborate deception. I for one do not trust the media, I have seen how it works coz I studied reporting and media for a year in University, but it really just needs common sense to realise there are times we the people are being fed lies disguised as truth.

If he really is dead, then I say a sad chapter is finally closed, but complacency and unseemly celebration are not the indicators of a humane population regardless of who he is or was, we do not compromise our ideals just to dance on the grave, figuratively, of a fallen terrorist.

As for the official version ,I have yet to see extraordinary evidence, and until I do, I remain unconvinced as to the American Governments ability to tell the truth.

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments I agree with Wolfie.

message 25: by Smog1997 (new)

Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 163 comments No offence, but saying Osama isn't dead, is like people who say man never walked on moon. You've seen pictures, what "extraordinary evidence" do you want?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Does it really make sense for America to lie about something this big? Imagine what would happen if they were lying and then people saw Bin Laden do something else terrible, There is no WAY the American government would take that chance.

message 27: by Ross (last edited May 05, 2011 06:20PM) (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Pictures can be and have proven to be misleading, that's all I'm seeing, putting trust in photographs has been proven to be fallible, that's all I'm saying.

As for the American government not taking such a chance, they took the risk of waging war on Iraq on the basis of non-existent weapons of mass destruction, and England, who under Tony 'Bliar' made the spurious claim of missiles reaching targets in the West in '45 minutes' They dared to stick to such an outrageous lie that was believed and swallowed up completely by all.

It's not that I want him to be alive, hell no, I'm just skeptical, and given the track record the West has had with 'truth' is it any wonder?

Bearing in mind that Osama, Saddam and Gaddafi were once allies of the US, when they served the purpose set for them by the US, now they're not following 'the script' they are villified, and rightly so, but the fact that America and her allies once affiliated themselves with such monsters contradicts the 'we want world peace' mantra they're bleating.

I teach students from Palestine and Iraq, and what they have told me is eye opening to say the least, I'm just curious why deaths during the 9/11 terrorist attacks are highlighted so often, when the plight of Palestinians, often women and children, at the hands of Israel are seemingly ignored, why? I am not belittling their tragedy, what was done was inexcusable and no justification can ever make it right, but this is a glaring double standard that undermines America's credibility, or am I wrong?

Ruby~am I a part of the cure? (openupyoureyes) | 529 comments They showed him watching TV!!!! OMG!!!!!! Well that's what I heard. Lol.

The US would be lying about his death so Obama can be re-elected as the president. Osama was probably dead in 2001.
