Haven't read that one either, I'm not into Vampire's that much. Dragons are a different story however! :)
They're neat, but for some reason they just don't hold my attention very well.
yeah, although some people don't like to hear your opinions. :/
I prefer fantasy or historical with a touch of romance.I dislike vampires in current literature. I don't feel they should be these tortured souls that fall in love with humans. They should be monsters who kill us.

You should totally check out this book then : Vampire Warlords. Vampires are total monsters rather than human-like critters.
:D

Thank you for the rec! I'll look into the book, see if I can get my hands on it.
I personally really like how the vampires are portrayed as monsters in human form who run on the drive to feed in Twelve by Jasper Kent. Bonus, it's about Russia and I find I have some form of pull to Russia in fiction.

I think I've read that one before. They (the Russian Army) hired the group of Twelve to prey on the French army, with significant success after thousands are wiped out. After awhile, the protagonist finally figures out what the "Twelve" actually are and tries to stop them, even though they're supposed to be on the "same side". :o

You would probably like 'Throat' by R.A. Nelson. It does NOT romanticize vampires and actually goes into the Germanic roots of the monsters, plus it is an interesting story in general about a teenage girl who gets turned with all the perks and none of the downsides. Pretty great book! :)

It took me several days to read it but I really enjoyed it. I've got the second book upstairs but I haven't read it yet - maybe this summer.
