Crazy for Chaos Walking! discussion

I have no idea who they would hire. It would be interesting to see but i think this book would suck as a movie.

Yeah, I don't think it would work as a film. It would be really hard to transfer it properly from book into film. For one thing, how could you convey something like the Noise onto a cinema screen, if it can't be seen, and it's such a critical part of the plot?

I know, about the Noise. The best they could to is to constantly play echoey vouces throughout the movie but that would not convey Noise properly at all. What about the pictures and colors and feelings?

But if there was some magical way to make these books into a movie, I think Anna Sophia Rob would make a good Viola. Unless she's a little too old now...I've never really seen her since Terabithia.

And, if you've ever seen the Grudge 3, I've always pictured Ben as the big brother in that movie...don't know his name but he had a very genuine, compassionate-looking face.

You'll all probably think otherwise, but maybe Logan Lerman could play Todd...? I haven't seen much of his acting mind lol mostly just pictures...
And I wanna be Viola. If there was ever a movie I could audition for, it would be for Viola. ;D

I guess he looks like a Todd, but I've never seen him act either. Or I think Matthew Knight might make a good Todd. He was also in the grudge 2 and 3 and I thought his acting was great. And I used too have a crush on him :P

OH OH OH!!!!!!! BIG news! Sort of speaking of actors, I don't know if you guys have already heard about this, but for the audio book for MoM (I think it's that one) the guy who played Malfoy is going to narrate as Todd.

I think (if they did make a movie) they'd be able to pull off the Noise. I know I can (for the book trailer...) ;)

And also, this has nothing to do with what we're talking about but, NEWS FLASH: I just read in an article that Patrick Ness said was accurate that he is gay and married. I had a feeling but I wasn't sure until now. Just so you know ;)

Logan lerman is an amazing actor!!!! And i have always thought of him as Todd.

Ya know, even though he is kinda old, Joseph Gordon Levitt has always been my davy. The actor is in his late 20's but he looks pretty young and in the movie Killshot, he is sporting a country accent and long hair that looks perfect on him. He is a really sweet guy in real life and can play the part really well i think!!

OH! And Alexander Ludwig would be a good Lee :) <3

Totally! He looks almost exactly how i would picture Todd, and he doesn't look as old as he is so it's perfect!!

Also speaking of Todd, there's this eight grader at my church who looks JUST like how I picture Todd. He has shaggy brown hair, is pretty tall, a little gangly, and it seems like he always wears a brown t-shirt. Whenever I see him I get weirded out because it's like, Oh my gosh, there's Todd!!! So weird.

AWHHH, I've had that before! With Maximum Ride. I was strolling around a city when this girl with curly dark blonde hair and this emo-looking guy walked past, holding hands - I was immediately like "MAX AND FANG!!!!!" and I must admit I stared at them a little, being totally off guard like that... They glanced at me being weird and just walked on... ;D

Yeah I always thought it was southern. Now Viola, she's British, right? Has an accent? Because in the prequal she calls her mom "mum" And because Patreick Ness is British.

Oh, and forget about the Todd guy at my church. He's growing a mustache and it looks weird :P I don't like mustaches on young men.

Haha! Sounds good to me. But I think the guy Kezia mentioned, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, should be davy. I don't know about you but he looks more like a Davy to me. And I always pictured Viola with dark brown to black hair, but about as short as Annasophia's. What about you?

I dont think that a story like that would be good as movie... we need to look at some stuff from Tod's place, and hear somethings he hears, like over people's noise and stuff... Movie will be a mess with all of those...

I know...nothing can better illustrate the Noise than Patrick Ness's words and a willing imagination...NOT a camera.
