Sydney (slknutsen) This group seems to be pretty much dead but here goes anyway.

Just started To Be Where You Are, Karon's 14th Mitford novel to date. Life continues in Mitford--living, dying, joy in each other's company, and the progression of our favorite character's lives. I can always count on J. Karon's books for a good read. Fr. Tim finds joy in retirement and discovering ways to minister to others in unexpected (and expected) ways.

Sydney (slknutsen) Glad the group is still "alive." Been out of the country. Finished the book, and as always, Jan Karon didn't disappoint. Toward the end, she caught the reader up on the lives of characters from other books. Nice touch. And the book left you expecting further developments in a "next" book. I look forward to it! I saw on the internet that Ms Karon says there is still more Mitford in her! You can count on just plain good, wholesome and entertaining reading with Jan Karon! Would like to hear of other similar authors.

Laurie | 1 comments Looking to find which book (the novels -- not Fr. Tim's journals) this quote by G.K. Chesterton is in...

"We make our friends; we make our enemies; but God makes our next-door neighbor."

Thanks!!
