Heather (MsDaisyMay) | 6 comments Are they're any authors that you think are similar to Jodi Picoult and you love?

So far I've only found two.

The first is Diane Chamberlain I've only read three of her books so far. ( Secret Life of CeeCee Wilks, Before The Storm, and Secrets she Left Behind ). She has been refereed to as " the southern Jodi picoult" Their writing style is very similar.

The other is Lisa Gardner, their writing style isnt' that close and she only writes suspense/thrillers but the way she sucks you in reminds me of JP.

So do you have any?

Which book do you suggest I start off with?

Dara S. (dara85) | 6 comments Heather, great call on Diane Chamberlain. I never thought about her. I think Diane also writes with each chapter as a different voice, as Picoult does.

I have thought Kristen Hannah. Not so much mystery, but something about the characters and the relationships remind me of Picoult. Two I would recommend are Firefly Lane and True Colors.

Marleen Catherine Ryan Hyde is an author who's writing is as interesting as Jodi Picoult's.
Catherine Ryan Hyde has written Pay It Forward, Love in the Present Tense, Don't Let me Go, which I enjoyed very much.

Betsy (mistymtladi) | 36 comments There is a web site called literary cloud,I think. You type in the name of an author, and they'll give you similiar ones. later today ,about 12 hours or so, I'll go look it up and report back.

Rene | 10 comments I really enjoyed The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain. It did remind me of JP's writing style. It was a good book.

Alexis | 41 comments I agree, Kristin Hannah reminds me alot of Picoult. The POV's are different, but the issues are similar. I've only read 2 of her novels, Night Road and Magic Hour. I liked Magic Hour best.

Sarah 'light on snow'- Anita Shreve, gave me the same intense emotional connection to the characters and I wasnt able to put the book down. I haven't read anymore of her books, but I plan on it.

Anne Scott (jonanne) Heather Gudenkauf's books are just amazing. I am a die hard fan of JP and felt so happy when I found this author.
