Jessica (jlheron) Has anyone else who read this book, just feel the shock at the end result of book one?

i can't stop thinking about what happened to Alex and Lena.
Why did the chapter have to end with her running into the Wilds?
What would the harm be if we got a little extra to see what her thoughts were and what she did after running for a long period of time?

grr i really didn't like the sudden end- especially what happened to Alex! I was hoping for a story line similar to the hunger games ( girl and friend take down the system and everything is all good and people are free) i hope book two turns some things around.

in book two i hope to see Lena and her mom reunite, Alex being safe and alive and the fricken love is a disease crap fall down to the ground!!!

(no one has joined yet, but if you do please share your thoughts)

Sabrina (androgynoid) Lets just say...I have never cried so hysterically in my entire life! and for a BOOK too! Once I got it together, I had to keep reminding myself that it's a trilogy. I was so mad at Lauren Oliver for making me love the book so much, and then practically breaking my heart in the end. But I know it's going to get better, it has to.
"in book two i hope to see Lena and her mom reunite, Alex being safe and alive and the fricken love is a disease crap fall down to the ground!!!"---i TOTALLY agree with you Jessica.
Also, in my opinion I think this book is my favorite right now. For me, its at equal levels of amazingness with Matcched and Hunger Games, this is just my favorite...for now.
Yay! First person to join your group! I'm surprised no one has yet.

Jessica (jlheron) Thank you for joining !!

I agree with you that yes this is a trilogy ( book two!!)

I thought the whole escape was rushed (alex arrives they bolt than there at the gate, and finally good bye lena going into the Wilds) i COULD NOT stop reading the last few pages because i couldn't get what just happened through my brain.

*sigh*
if only there was a more comfortable ending

Gracie (amazinggracie5683) I cried sooo much.

Did Alex die?
Will he be taken to get the cure?
What do you think will happen?

We'll just have to wait till her second book, Pandemonium comes out...to bad that's in ONE YEAR!!!

Jessica (jlheron) I know it was SSSOOOO sad! And shocking!

message 6: by Fatiange (new)

Fatiange This book makes me believe I have some sort of tendency to find gratification in pain because I've never ever cried so much for anything... and I still love it. It was so sad and perfect. I truly hope than Alex doesn't die for real. I already believed it once after finishing Delirium and before knowing it was a trilogy. It was heartbreaking for poor Lena ='(
Alex please, please don't die!
And what's up with the review of pandemonium? Lena falls in love again? That can't be happening. It's not right. She and Alex have to end up together. It has to be that way.
2012 is sooo far away =(

Leila (leilacarrollann) | 3 comments I just finished the book last night. I was so upset by the ending. He just shouldn't die. I think it is awful and I am worried it will ruin the next book(s).

And have you read the teaser for the next book, I don't think Alex makes it. I think the next book will have more action. But I think it also needs romance and without Alex I don't know how that will work. The teaser talks about Lena falling in love again, but I am not so sure I like that idea. Don't you think it will feel like a betrayal against Alex? I don't know, what do you all think.

message 8: by Sami (new)

Sami | 1 comments I loved the ending! Her mother's quote became so sentimental. Alex's death was a great conclusion because you wonder about the next book.
