Well, I've finished reading the book. One of the most depressing books I've read in a while, yet also uplifting (to a smaller degree). I don't know if you all have finished it yet, but I feel I can discuss it with more ease now that I have the entire picture.

Yes I agree with you. There was sadness in the book but overall, I thought it was very uplifting due to the huge learning experience that Oskar went through. This book was so interesting and the characters were extremely unique in their own ways. This book just proves that the journey is sometimes more important than the outcome.
