I read the first chapter which introduces you to the world. So far its okay but the narrator is doing a lot of telling instead of showing but maybe that her writing style it works for some writers like the author of
.
I finished this book yesterday and I absolutely LOVE it! The first bit was not phenomenal but once Tris joins the --- (don't wanna spoil now) the speed picks up and it's freaking amazing!!

Yeah, it doesn't spoil that much but still, a surprise is a surprise.
At first when I read the blurb I thought she'd choose (view spoiler) but I guess that's too dramatic ;)

I will agree with you guys that this book starts out slow. I think it is because Tris is hiding so much of herself. I do wish that the author would have explained more about the world. What happened to make it factions, why is there the fence.
I didn't guess what was going to happen until Tris did. Then I was horrified by what happened after that. There were some tough choices that were made.
It will be interesting to see what happens next.
Ok, are pages 25 and (I think) 49 deliberately blank in everyones copy or is it just the copy that I checked out from the library? That seriously threw me.
Never seen the book. Just laughing because I know how much it would suck to turn the page and have a what the heck moment.
That would really suck! As it is, I'm extra confused. Luckily, contextual clues say that nothing really important has happened on my missing pages, but still. ANNOYING.
I loved Divergent, I am making everyone I know read it. I actually liked Insurgent better, which surprised me! I think the fence was just to keep them in suclusion from the outside.
I am doing Allegiant on audio book. I'm on disc 6 of 10 and I have to say, its really really really...boring. I can not believe how ridiculously boring this book is. I also feel like I'm having two love triangles shoved at me, (Tobias-Tris-Matthew and Tris-Tobias-Neeta)which is annoying. Tris/Tobias managed to be together for two books without resorting to such BS. They may have had issues, some of them dealing with trust but this is so stupid. I could be seeing things that aren't there (and I hope that I am) but it seems like the books is heading down that path. I would have rather Roth had waited a couple of years to publish the book then to have gotten this crap. Crap seems a little rude...but I really don't like it.
Oh thats ok. I'm interested to see what happens in the latter half of the book (view spoiler) I'm more interested now then I was before.
I was really disappointed with Allegiant. The whole feel of the book felt different. Don't even get me started on Tobias. wow, he actually bugged me in this book, which was heart breaking because I loved him! Oh and Tris, wow. I sometimes pretend that I didn't read it. That way I can still enjoy the original Divergent :)
So far, it kind of reminds me of when I read Breaking Dawn. I was so all about Twilight. And then Breaking Dawn happened. Before the book ended I knew that I was just...over it. What happens to the people? Don't care. Its really boring. And Tobias has gotten all sorts of stupid...it feels like other characters were dumbed down to prop up Tris. Who even though she had erudite in her, I never thought was particularly smart. And, now that I know what happens instead of being all, Oh great! We get to learn more of Tobias perspective for the first time I mostly feel manipulated.
And also: GD and GP is really, really stupid. And I don't like that I have heard the word "divergent" a hundred million times collectively in the first two books and in the last book you see it about...5 times.
