GSGS | 50 comments A lot of the spelling of this is wrong... I don't know if you were aiming to use phonetic spelling... but anyway, most of it is wrong, sorry ;)

Miss Silvertongue (misssilvertongue) | 16 comments Hmm ditto to GSGS (I'm been in her French for the past 3 years. We've had some good times. But you learn Italian which gives you an enormous headstart which I always remind you of...). :D

message 4: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments Woah, Miss? Are you stalking me??
Yeah, yeah. And may I remind you that, essentially, it's only grammatical rules that are similar...

message 5: by Seraph (new)

Seraph Une, duex, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix!

I think I can really help people in this topic!!

(not trying to boast, seriously) But I've been doing French for 3 years and got straight as last year, and a+ last term XD

GSGS {Jizzy} wrote: "A lot of the spelling of this is wrong... I don't know if you were aiming to use phonetic spelling... but anyway, most of it is wrong, sorry ;)"

I Know I Really Dont care, I want To make People Pronounce it right.

message 7: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments Yes but when you're writing French it is rather important. And even some of the things you have in brackets afterward to show the phonetic spelling, the correct spelling isn't right anyway. I don't think you can claim that you're trying to teach people when you're teaching them wrong.

@Seraph: This is my third year now; I really enjoy French :)

message 8: by Seraph (new)

GSGS | 50 comments :D That's better.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Isn't no non...?
I was enjoying French before the teacher changed... :(
We are learning about reflexiv and subject pronouns like.
I= Je
you= Tu
He/She= Il, Elle
We= Nous
You(Formal)= Vous
Plural= Ils, Elles.

And the reflexiv pronouns.
Je= ((CAN'T REMEMBER! KILL ME NOW!
Tu- Te
Il elle= Se
Nous= Nous
Vous= Vous
Ils elles= Se

And when you use them in a sentence like.
He brushes his teeth
You say.
Subject pronoun, then reflexiv pronoun then adjective.
Like:
Il se gross le dante. ((I think that's the right adjective... :O Or is called a verb... It's a doing word anyway...))

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I REMEMBERED! It's
Je= Me! Yayayayayay! I'm not a complete failure...

message 12: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments Well done :P Except it's reflexivE, not reflexiv. Not to be picky or anything...
And vous can also be plural, as well as formal.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

:( Damn...
Oh ok thanks!
Last year with a different teacher me and my besty were the top of the class... Not boasting I'm just saying that this new teacher has really f*cked how much I was enjoying french, up...
This new teacher has been learning french for as long as us... 2 YEARS! GAH! I'M GONNA SCREAM! The only reason we are learning anything is because we have a french student teacher...

message 14: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments Aww, that sucks :( Just keep at it, hopefully it gets better.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah.
I was thinking of swapping French for another semester of Creative Writing but I'm not sure with all the extra stuff you get if you stick with it until year 12...

message 16: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments You can do creative writing as a subject??????

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah! I did it this semester and it definately helped my writing. I want to do it again but I have to swap something I would want for it...

message 18: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments That sounds awesome. But yeah, presented with the option of French and writing... I'd probably go with French. You can kinda do writing by yourself but you need lessons for French. So yeah.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. I spose. I'll stay with French I think.

message 20: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments Tres bonne.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Very good?
Merci.

message 22: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments De rien

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh maybe I did... I dunno can't remember...

message 25: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments You're welcome...

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh ok... I'm dumb, not my teacher.

Ils/ Elles ont

Etre= To be

??????
Never learnt any of them...

message 29: by Kogiopsis (new)

Kogiopsis Laura, 'he brushes his teeth' is 'Il se brosse les dents'.

Are you sure you never learned avoir or etre? They're two of the four most important verbs in French. You must have learned some of their conjugations, especially if you're learning reflexives already.

Miss Silvertongue (misssilvertongue) | 16 comments Vous aveZ.

Yeah they kinda are... it was one of the first things we learnt. And every single teacher makes sure we've remembered it.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Laura (MIAOW!) wrote: "I REMEMBERED! It's

Hey Isnt it Je=I???

IT IS!! THAT'S WHAT MY FRENCH TEACHER TOLD ME!!

message 32: by Seraph (new)

Seraph It mean I or me, depending on the context...

Anila wrote: "Laura, 'he brushes his teeth' is 'Il se brosse les dents'.

Oops I'll fix that.
Avoir? No... Etre? No... I don't think so.

I'm talking about the reflexive version.

message 34: by Kogiopsis (new)

Kogiopsis Laura, if I may be perfectly frank, any French teacher who hasn't taught you Avoir or Etre already deserves to be fired because they are incompetent. That's... that's sad.
What about Faire or Aller?

message 35: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments What Anila says is true. A whole tense is based on those two verbs.

Miss Silvertongue (misssilvertongue) | 16 comments Past tense that is. I thought that lesson might be useful one day.

message 37: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments LOL :P

message 39: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments If you have a good teacher it should be fine.

message 40: by Seraph (new)

Seraph The first part's pretty easy, it's VERBS and stuff which come later on... They suuuuck... >.<

message 41: by GSGS (new)

GSGS | 50 comments I'm OK with grammar so far (I'm learning Italian, and it's all pretty much the same). Vocab, on the other hand...
