Andrea (andreaorva) Okay so I put catholics and christians on the same topic cause they're really similar. Any questions or comments about the religion. Please be respectful.

Shep I used to be Christian, a really strict form of it called Seventh Day Adventist. Even though I'm agnostic now, I still remember having a lot of good times at church when I was young. The school I went to for kindergarten and elementary was a religious private school as well. Lots of memories. :)

Shep Well, the bible does say Jesus had brothers and sisters. So perhaps the virgin thing was just with Jesus, though I also think it's a bit hard to believe, no offense to those who do believe it.

I believe that the virgin Mary was a virgin with Jesus, and after Jesus was born, he had brothers and sisters, meaning that she was no longer a virgin (from Joseph). I mean, God created Adam and Eve, him placing an embryo in Mary wouldn't be that hard. just my thoughts :P

Shep Another interesting thing to keep in mind is that the original language the Bible was written in was Hebrew. The direct translation of the Hebrew word for "virgin" is a young unmarried woman. So, who knows, perhaps she was not a virgin in the sense we're thinking of.

Smog1997 (confuzzlement) | 168 comments This is totally irrevelant, but i keep seeing these billboards for Judgement Day being on May 21st. Does anyone know what that's about?

message 8: by Emespre (last edited May 17, 2011 02:28AM) (new)

Emespre | 10 comments Sorry Smog, no. I saw a thread about it somewhere but I generally skip those. I get concerned, even though my beliefs (Christian) say that no one can know when Judgement Day is.

Not sure how to do this properly, so...oh wait, found it.

'I mean, God created Adam and Eve, him placing an embryo in Mary wouldn't be that hard. just my thoughts :P' (Avree)

Good point. I always just took it for granted that it happened because God can do anything, but really great point :).

So I Have A Question. I Am Muslim And Instead Of The Bible We Read The Quran. The Bible And Quran Are The Same Thing. But i Have A question. 2 Actually.

1. In The Quran It Says For Everyone To NOT DRINK ALCHOHOL To Not Listen To Music For Women To Cover There hair It Says NO PORK AND it Says The Same Stuff In The Bible. BUT People unlike muslims who DO follow it. who are you afraid more of, God or What other people will think. GOD is more powerful. God Created Us And Can Make Us Die ANYTIME! Could You Give An Explanation For That?

2. The Very First Bible From God has Been Passed Down To Earth. God Said NOT TO CHANGE IT!! But Now Every Bible Has Different Words, Authors And Amount Of Pages. But The Quran Is NEVER Changed Its Either All The 30 Books Combined Or Boook One Then Book 2 Then Book 3 Or A Few Combined At A Time.... They Never Change Anything In The Quran. But In The Bible They Do. Why Is That So?

Please Explain Theese For Me TODAY As Soon As You Can. Thank You

Regards,
Farah

Becky (MissFooFoo) My best friend in England is Christian

message 15: by Erin (new)

Erin I'm Methodist and don't like how the topic grouped Catholics and Christians together because that's kinda redundant since Catholicism is just a division of Christianity

message 16: by Cassie (new)

Cassie I'm so confused, why are all of these religions put in one folder (or topic thing). They're each totally different....
