Anne Just started this book today, and like, 30 pages in they're doing the deed... YET AGAIN!!! What THE shit?!

McKayla I don't know why they are doing it. I mean like are they really in love? or are they just doing it to do it? HAHAHA!

Stormy They did it because they love each other, I think.

Lupita someone is doing it in theses books every 7 pages its really gross (Zoey the hoey) as i like to call her

message 5: by Cas (new) - rated it 3 stars

Cas i really agree the series is so sexual. i read it with my mom and within the first 4 books she had already had "fun" with a teacher! i think she needs to lessen the sexuality in the series because the storyline is almost broken at points due to wierd relationships.

Anne Totally agreed with all of you... I mean, seriously? Does EVERYONE have to do the deed in this book? It's quite shitty if you ask me...

Brey OK I am only 13 and I have read a lot worse books than this. Sure they do it a lot for a young adults book but its not like they go into detail or anything. She did a good job with it i think it ties into the book to make you want to read it in a way.Either way it is a well written book with a lot of different issues and they all make you want to read. Cannot wait for her next book.

message 8: by Cas (new) - rated it 3 stars

Cas kind of like Brey said, it is a good book and i love the series but i do think there is too much sexuality. sure she doesn't go into detail(i like), but it is still there and i read this series with my mom!

Lupita im 13 to and i used to think that it was so perverted but then i read forever by judy blume and lets just say she went into details

message 10: by Anne (new) - rated it 2 stars

Anne Happens...:) Yeah some books are just... NO.

message 11: by Brey (new) - rated it 5 stars

Brey But this is not exactly one of those books. I mean sure people do the deed a little too much but not as much as over half of the books out there.

Hannah It's just how PC Cast is. I've read most of her books and trust me, HON is nothing compared to her other published works! And if you don't enjoy reading books with a little tasteful trash in them, then sucks to be you. :D

McKayla OMG! I cannot believe we are actually talking about it like this. Look if PC wants to write like that then let her. HER BOOK! But I do agree with yall. She can slow it down between Zoey(the hoey) and Stark. That's just wrong. PLUS in my opinion they are a little too young, 17 or not.

i agree with you it is her book and i do think they are too young also. thx for pointing that out!

Kristen Callihan She might be 17 in the book but she is dealing with a lot of other grown up things, so it is natural that sex would be apart of that. I mean it is all over ever other media outlet there is, so naturally its going to be in books. If you aren't mature enough to read books with that in it, then you need to find a new series to read. Sex is a part of life, and their are even book designated to it in the bible, so either you are able to handle it or not. If not then you might have to wait until you are then pick the series up again. I would say personally that I would not let anyone under the age of 17 read this book. Unfortunately books like this are becoming the trend, where they are labeled as young adult, but I would more accurately place then for the 17-25 range. The problem is that there really isn't a label for books in that range.

Stormy Books like this might come out to you as saying "Sex is okay." but that's not the intention. Sex is a tough subject to discuss because there are a million opinions and views on the topic. But just because TV and books feature it doesn't mean its saying "do it". And if you aren't ready or comfortable in reading or viewing it then avoid it. Stop right when you start feeling uncomfortable. Me, I read about it for the knowledge--I was curious but not curious enough to go out and experience anything until I was ready. So don't get peer pressured or anything!

Kristen Callihan Stormy makes a good point. There are books out there that don't talk about sex, and even ones that its not the so much at the forefront like in HON. I guess my think is you always have to decide what is best for you. I've always been very independent, so I've always had the luxury of choosing for myself what is right for me. You would not have seen me reading books like this at 13, and even thought some of the required books for school had parts that were a little too risque, but that is the point of the books to challenge what you thing. Since these are independent reading books, you also have the luxury of choosing to put it down as well. All I know is that sex is complicated. Having it is complicated, and not having it is complicated. And it seems to be everywhere you look. As if teenagers don't have enough pressures, they now how to deal with this. But no matter what is going on, in a book or with your friends, you have to choose for you what is right because when it comes down to it, you are the only one who has to live with your choices. So just like Stormy said, don't feel peer pressured to do anything that you don't want to do just because you read about stuff, or other people are doing it. I've come to find as I've gotten older that there is nothing more difficult than being yourself, and the biggest thing you will struggle with is being accepted for who you are. I know I sound like some preachy old person, which really I'm right out of college, but I see so many teenagers struggling every day with dealing with these issues.

Brey Teenagers do not copy thing in books and i do not know why people act like they do...unless they copy everything they read in books....

message 21: by Leah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leah i think young adult books should be classified as 17-30 because its between the 'immature teen' and 'mature adult' (not saying that 30 or even 20 isnt/is a mature adult. im just sayin.. its still a classification) and they need to have a classification specifically for 'teens' such as.. ages 12-17 'teens'. i feel like books jump from children to young adult too quickly, causing parents to get frustrated because their young teens are reading YA books but really its the next step in the classification for books. a 15 year old doesnt want to be seen taking a junie b jones book to school, just as much as most parents dont want them taking something such as HON. they need to form a happy medium. one that doesnt make young teens feel stupid, and out of place by it being too young for them, and one that all parents would be ok with them reading..

with that said.. i love HON. it has a lot of what the crap moments.. but all books do. i think its different and creative. i put it down after the first few chapters, then a year later felt like getting it back out and trying it again. ever since ive loved the books! i cant wait for the next one :)

Rianne This series was out right hilarious, and what would the book be without those moments? the plot line would be completely different,, and probably a heck of a lot less emotional,, but it wasnt soo... thats just the way it is(:

Maturity has NOTHING to do with it. The point is that nearly everything about HoN is centered around sex. There's way too much of that going on... Like Zoey and her teacher? That was MESSED up. And besides she's SEVENTEEN not an adult by anyone's standards.

message 26: by Anne (new) - rated it 2 stars

Anne I enjoyed the first few HoN novels, then they just seemed to drag and get worse and worse in my opinion... Just sayin'. :)

message 27: by Stormy (last edited Jun 10, 2011 11:02AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Stormy Well its all about opinions. They are getting pretty bad as in kinda boring but I don't think that the SEX was all that explicit...its just that it wasn't about LOVE, AT ALL! But now it is with Stark and I think that's fine. And I'm extremely uncomfortable with the topic of sex in a conversation but this series is nothing. Its all about what your comfortable with! And like I said before if your not comfortable then DON'T READ IT!

I have to agree with you there I mean the over all story is something completely diffrent than just sex also I find that most writers add a few steamy love scenes so that the main character doesnt seem frigid which so many people are apt to judge on is wether there is enough sexuality for a book but if you dont like it dont read it . I agree

message 30: by Syahira (last edited Jun 17, 2011 09:53PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

Syahira PC purposely touched the topic and she made Zoey not flawless enough as most reader wanted her to be. PC's a teacher, and she's teaching that everyone made mistakes and teenagers are hormonal as well and this can lead to bad decisions. We are sexual creatures anyway. Thats how we're conceived. No need to be prude. And its not a children's book. Its a for-teenager book.

My sex ed started when I was 12 in school when some sanitary pads company started their lecture on how to wear pads and human reproduction. 15 was when I started having lectures about sex in human biology. Honestly, I take this book than listening to monotonous boring lecture.

Angel Seo HEY WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH everyone just calm their sacks,,,, dont flip balls here about zoey the hoey, just forget all about her sex life and how shes a high priestess... i dont care if shes a slut or how cute stark is supposed to be...i just think...kalona is really hot. the end.

message 32: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy I agree that there are some points in these books that make you question zoey as a character. I appreciated that after she "did it" with the teacher that it was something that she regretted and had consequences. Unlike in some books it did not (at least in my opinion) make it seem like doing something like that is okay.

A. Vampire Queen. LOL ((Discussion title))

I think they are all Horny little shiats! Lol but really they're all teenager's wat do u expect!

deedee megadoodoo Anne wrote: "Just started this book today, and like, 30 pages in they're doing the deed... YET AGAIN!!! What THE shit?!"

I KNOW!!! i really love this series but over time and as each book came out, i sort of stopped liking them a little bit because P.C Cast and Kristin Cast make them sound like such children when they say "Bull Poopie" "Ohmigod" and "like" way too much. as a teenager myself i can definitely say that we do NOT talk like that. So really its this big contradiction because they sound so childish, and Zoey hides away at Sgiachs island, and yet this chick goes from one guy to another, every man wants her, shes having sex in every chapter, and shes got to save the world.

A. Vampire Queen. agreed, we don't say omg that much at all.

Sierra Oh come on! It's not like it's NOT going to happen! I mean she watched him die in her own arms before she knew him that well and she STILL cried. He went into another WORLD to save her and you don't think that's bound to leave a mark?! It's not like their just some strangers lookin for a one night stand!

Veronica I'll admit I enjoyed these books BUT! and this is a huge BUT, it is all so rushed. at times i would read it and think that a lot of time has passed with all that goes on. . . then I'll start the next book and it's been like 2 days since she started school made all these friends starting dating erik and began flirting with loren...what?

Bibli-ophelia Clerico Anne wrote: "Just started this book today, and like, 30 pages in they're doing the deed... YET AGAIN!!! What THE shit?!"
curse much? At least you could make your point with some class.

Teleatha Well there is a warning on the back cover...

doesnt matter how you put it. either way who cares, worry about yourself.

Mockingjay I would prefer if they would tell a story without having all the sexual content. Yes have the romance without all the in depth detail and actually get somewhere in this series!

deedee megadoodoo Mockingjay wrote: "I would prefer if they would tell a story without having all the sexual content. Yes have the romance without all the in depth detail and actually get somewhere in this series!"

yea the series isnt really going anywhere lately -__- like the authors rush through the series just to get the books in on time. and then they go ride horses to cool off from writing. -__- like wtf.

Karla Mercer No Zoey isn't a Hoey if anybody is a HO is Neferet. Neferet put Loran up to seducing Zoey the end of that. But Neferet was sleeping with Loarn she killed her lover and then when Kalona appeared she started sleeping with him. Now she is all freaky with the big bad white bull. She gets pleasure from him licking her. HELLO?!? Nasty anyone. If anybody is a ho or slut in the series it is Neferet. Zoey never would have slept with Loran if he didn't seduce her. Now Neferet has a new boy toy that the white bull gave her and it has Heath's soul in it. So now Neferet is going to be sleeping with what here millionith guy. come on. SHe was sleeping with guys left and right while Kalona was in the otherworld doing her biding. Nereft is the nasty one, not Zoey. Kalona is just an asshole even though he did let his favorite son go and be inlove with Stevie Rea. Stark is hot and Eric is getting nicer because he is a Tracker now. But Zoey really is no longer considered a High Prietess she is more than likely considered a Queen.

Karla Mercer Anne wrote: "Just started this book today, and like, 30 pages in they're doing the deed... YET AGAIN!!! What THE shit?!"

well they didn't really do the deed as you call it in Burned. Stark just fed from her to get healed again and that is how Zoey got her marks back. So they wasn't doing the deed she was just helping him heal by giving him fresh blood. Which it helped her out too in the end.

Emily I thinks its fine that it happens with stark

Etough Hmmmm...never had a problem with Zoey's sex life in the books, but maybe that's because I am older than the target audience?? Don't know...I will say though without spoiling the ending. The last chapter of the book, now that s*** did not leave a pretty picture in my head. Actually I was completely and totally skeeved by that. But hey...if PC Cast wants to go there her call. But that is just nasty....

message 47: by Cas (new) - rated it 3 stars

Cas I agree with most of you... the thing between Neferet and the bull was WRONG! It also does prove she is kinda worse than Zoey, but we usually get details about zoey...so the thing with neferet was almost expected but not with the bull!

Elena Of course they love each other. And why shouldn't they do it? I mean it's not like she's twelve, PC gotta make her do something instead of just slutting around. .-.

Sierra I agree ^^^^^^

Mansi I guess their saying that that;s how some teenagers are these days or something...
I like horny books!
Mmmmmmm fuck me harder James!
