Gid had been traveling for days when he hit the city. He moved quietly through the town skirting groups of undead as he searched for a place to find supllies. He carried his bow in one hand with an arrow on the string, and one of his Kukaries in the other hand as he made his way towards a small corner store.
Suki sat against the wall of the 7-Eleven, silently munching on a bag of Doritos as she waited for her sister to come back. The only sound that resonated in the enclosed space was the sound of the aluminum bag and her chewing; but that was basically it. Everything else was like a ghost town. And to think that this was down-town Lansing, Michigan not a week ago...
Keirnan trekked down the city sidewalk with his hands in his pockets; his polearm strapped to his back. A stale apple strudel was clutched in a small napkin as he ate it; silently thanking the deceased baker who had made it. "Poor Bruce. Didn't know what was coming to him." He murmured quietly under his breath, gulping down the cold pastry.

Gid felt Robert shift on his shoulder. There's something inside. He thought drawing back the arrow on his bow. He quietly made his way to the smashed window of the store and looked inside searching for the soorce of the disturbance.
Miki walked toward her younger sister after grabbing a Dr Pepper. "You know, we could totally throw keg party without anyone to tell us off for it." She jabbed a thumb over her shoulder at the aisles of cheap beer.
Gid's soft soles made less noise than a shadow as he stepped over the edge of the window, and started circling around the voice.
((Quinten: They shouldn't be nervous if they hear noise during the day. I made an edit on the Plot/Description page. The dead can only move in the daytime. They can be paranoid... But not hostile, per-se.))
"Sounds like a great way to kill our livers." Suki replied, her voice low. She was about to say her catch phrase for the umpteenth time before her breath caught in her throat. ...Someone's here? "...Hold that thought. Either the dead can walk in the day again, or there's a living human being that just entered the vicinity." She said, getting to her feet. Ever so silently, she set the bag of chips on the ground without a sound and started the slow approach from the back of the store to the front; where Gid seemed to be circling them.
Keirnan yawned slightly as he glanced around; tossing the tissue paper over his back carelessly as he decided to kick the leg of one of the undead as a test. All it did was fall over; making a domino affect as a couple others surrounding the fallen one toppled over as well. "...That's interesting." He mused, continuing on to see if his local 7-Eleven's slushie machine still worked.

Boris the blind cat yowled from Miki's shoulder. "Silly Boris, the zombies aren't awake yet~" She scratched under his chin to produce a pleased purr.
Gid angled his bow and raised it to firing level as Roberto's movements incresed. ((He's suspicious of most humans, and animals can be hostile))
Suki's neck tingled as her sixth-sense picked up not just a human, but an animal; both with frequent, quickening pulses coming from them. Just a bit paranoid, are we? How shallow. She snorted, skirting behind a shelf as she realized that the human, a boy of about college age, had a weapon with him. Dangerous, too.
Keirnan traced the familiar path from his house to the convenience store with relative ease. Even six years from home and he hadn't forgotten the path he had trod so many times. With any luck, they'll still have monsters in stock. Hell, I'm probably like, the only person still alive anymore! Wouldn't those apocalypse-fangads just LOVE this. He mocked sarcastically, cracking his neck.

Miki nevertheless pulled out her nine millimeter. "Here Boris. Happy?" She scoffed as he gave her a blank look with his sightless eyes. "Don't look at me like that. Fine!" She huffed, flipping the safety.
James sat hunched on a roof, looking out upon the dead city. Wait...is that movement? Are the living dead waking up early today? He frowned, hefting his machine gun up, taking a look through the binoculars strapped around his neck.
Gid saw the slight reflection of two girls behind the shelves ahead one him. He caught sight of the pistol in the hand of one girl, and cursed mentaly. He eased off the arrow, and set the bow down quietly before drawing his sawed off with one hand, and gripping his knife in the other. He eased the safety off of the shotgun, and prepaiered to turn the corner.
Suki paused as she sensed Gid shift slightly. Mentally judging from his movements, she cursed under her breath. And a hand weapon. If only I could get to Miki without him noticing...! She could only hope that the old Sensei's lessons hadn't worn off in a month.
As if Keirnan could feel it, his purple-looking irises glanced around; scanning the rooftops. "...Could have sworn someone just looked my way." He muttered, shrugging his jacket a little tighter around his shoulders. "Must be going crazy..."

The cat leaped down from her shoulder, a blur as he headed over to the counter. "What the hell?" Miki shook her black hair out of her face.
Gid watched the closer girl shiftand instantly turned the corner bringing his knife to the closer gir's neck, and aiming his shotgun at the girl with the gun. "Don't move." He growled at them.
Ignoring Gid's order, Suki chomped down on Gid's hand and slipped from his grasp, giving him a sharp kick to the shin before skirting behind another shelf; determined not to let herself get caught. Watch each other's back, but no self sacrifice. She thought to herself; a vow she had taken when she and her sister started fighting together.
Gid cursed and shifted his weight off the kicked leg, but retained his aim on the more dangerous of the two. "Put the gun down." He said calmly.
"Why? There's two of us and one of you." Miki paused. "Plus a blind cat. Wouldn't that be rather stupid of us since we have the advantage here?"
Of course, the cat. "We didn't even try to hurt you until you pointed a gun at us. I knew you were here as soon as you stepped into the store. Through the window, for good measure. Pretty cautious, aren't you? Haven't you figured out they don't move during the day? You should be happy that there are even other living people in this apocalypse. How shallow."
"Can't trust people half the time either." Gid said grimmly. "Too many bandits out there for their own gain." He centered the twelve gauge on the armed girl. "And as for why you should drop the gun is beacause this shotgun is semiauto and was more that enough shots for you two and the cat." He straightened himself before saying. "If you aren't bandits then say so and we'll have no problems if I believe you."
"What color is the red fire truck?" Miki groused to herself, switching the gun back to safety and putting it on the ground. "We aren't bandits you asswipe."
"Then I see no reason not to share, there's plenty here for us all." He said holstering his weapons, and picking up his bow. "I jusst find it never hurts to be cautious." He said pulling a sanitizing wipe from his pocket and wiping off the bite on his hand.
"Hm. Germophobic or fear of daywalking zombies?" Miki picked up the gun and stuffed it in her waistband.
"No, but I've seen a man who lost his arm after another man bit him in a fight. The infection destroyed it." He said looking over at her. " Best not to chance fate."
Miki nodded understandingly as her cat pounced onto her shoulder. "Hey Boris." She affectionately scratched at his ears.
Suki still didn't feel comfortable with Gid in the vicinity. He called me a bandit. She mentally fumed, though she decided to head towards the front of the store rather than the back; where Gid and her sister were. The first person we meet after this nightmare started and he's a complete dipshit.
Keirnan whistled lightly to himself as he approached the corner store; his jewelry clinking lightly in the breeze as it blew through the streets. Except for the massive amount of blood and gore on the sidewalks and sides of buildings, along with all the corpses strewn along the asphalt of the paved road; he could almost believe that everything was normal. Almost.

"Suki-- do you think there's any sliced bread that isn't stale?" Miki wondered as Boris swiped at Roberto with a hiss. She clamped a hand over the cat's muzzel. "Shut uo Boris."
"Maybe. Check the back." Suki quipped briefly as she listened outside for movement. She could've sworn she heard someone whistling outside, but it had stopped. Her mental map didn't reveal anything dangerous; so she let it go as the wind, even though her neck tingled. Maybe it's just nerves...
"Alrighty~" Miki walked to the back, hand twitching toward her dagger for no apparent reason. As she walked through the shelves, her chipper aura dropped and a solemn expression dominated her features.
Gid began loading his pack with water bottles and watched the girl walk towards the back of the store. something about her stuck in his mind but he wasn't sure what.
Miki's eyes lightened considerably as she found the bread. She ran a hand through her black hair as she leaned over to read the labels. She grabbed two loaves of sourdough, satisfied with her find.
Gid began checking the shelves and shoving a third of anything usefull he found into his bag. He would be true to his word, and share what was there to be had.
Miki unzipped the duffel that was over her shoulder and began stuffing foods she knew would last into the small space. "Suki!" She called in a more stern tone than usual. "Any stragglers?"
Gid sellected dried goods, and anything that didn't need to be refrigerated to go into his bag along with the water and other supplies.
((UPDATE:
[TIME: SUNSET]))
Suki gave an inaudible sigh. "Not that I can tell. Sun's starting to go down. Time to move the shelves over the front again, sis." She said, right before Keirnan turned the corner; approaching the store in a calm manner.
As soon as the college boy saw the pretty little teen, he couldn't help but grin. "Why hello, there. Mind letting me in before the zombies wake up from their nap?"

Suki visibly stiffened at the boy's appearance, but at least he hadn't taken out any weapons. She could immediately see his polearm and guns, but he hadn't drawn them. Good. No more assholes. "...Only because you're an idiot for heading out at this time. Get in quickly. We're closing up for the night."
Keirnan accepted the invitation quickly, climbing through the smashed window as Suki pushed an entire shelf of dried and packaged goods over the broken window by herself. "Miki, get the other one." She called to her sister; her half the work done. Turning to glance at Keirnan, she scowled a bit. "Go to the back and make yourself useful." She said before she disappeared.

Gid shoved a heavy section of shelving over the doorway before glancing up at the new arrival. "You any good with that weapon?" he asked.
((Yes, don't worry XD))
"If I wasn't, do you think I'd be alive?" Keirnan asked with a coy grin, grabbing a pack of chips off a shelf. "This baby is my inheritance. If I didn't know how to use it, that'd be pretty sad."
Suki just muttered under her breath as she walked to the back of the store, brushing past Miki. "New arrival. Didn't see him coming." She said. "Get the other window. It's sundown already."

He just laughed, popping the bag open. "The name's Keirnan. Keirnan White. 25 year old near-college grad. Nice to make your acquaintance....?" He prompted, waiting for Gid's reply.
"Gideon, call me Gid." Gid said taking out his war sword. He sat cross legged with his sword across his knees facing the front of the store ready for anything.
"Cool. I'll be right back. Gettin' me some Pepsi." He said, making his way to the beverage section to settle down just a bit before the hoards came knocking.
