Thank you. Why don't you tell Betty you are a man? She can easily fix the blog.

It's a wonderful review!!

message 8: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair lol, it isn't the first time it has happened to me. I take it as a compliment. I write romance so well that people think I am female. :) The review really made me happy today because I wasn't expecting it and with so many good things happening around the book I feel like I am being spoilt, lol.

You deserve it. I contacted Betty and she changed the blog. Yes, taking it that way is a compliment, but perhaps it's even better to think a man can write such good romance. Why can only women write great romance? That's sexist, isn't it?

message 10: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair lol, it is a sexist business. I had a lot of rejections for some of my books because they said. "We do not accept male authors." lol, but that is a part of life.

Jean (jeanjay) | 249 comments Mod
I've had to deal with that all my life. I don't like to take it in stride or see someone else suffer from it either. Can't help it, fairness rules.

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments Alex, thank you so much for this list! One publisher that I'm working with right now is Astraea Press at http://www.astraeapress.com They only take sweet romance.

message 13: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair Astraea Press seem to becoming fairly popular. I am hearing their name more and more.

Yes, we are hoping they are growing in stature, bringing out books that are plot and character driven, not relying on erotic scenes only to sell. But then again, we are optimists.

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments We sure are, Jean!

LOL, Elaine!

message 17: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair I wish you the best of luck. I have been approached by three publishers in the last 4 weeks to sign with them. One english publisher and two from the U.S, but going to stick to my guns and stay indy.

Wonderful news, though!

Melinda Clayton (goodreadscommelinda_clayton) Hi Alex and everyone - I haven't been on in a while because the kids are out of school, and you can imagine what that's like. :-)

Just stopping by to share some information. Some of you may know that, due to complaints of spamming, Amazon created a new forum for authors, the "Meet Our Authors" forum. Authors are no longer allowed to post links, blurbs, synopses, etc. to their books on any other forum. Although I think it was a good idea, many authors have complained about a decrease in sales since this happened, since it did cut down on interaction between writers and readers.

To help with the issue Marti Talbot, an indie author, has created a website for authors to come and list their books and readers to come and browse reading materials. Apparently, it's already getting a lot of hits. The site is at http://1500authors.com

Just one more resource for us to use. :-)

Melinda
