That's great news, Alex! Congratulations.

message 3: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair Thanking you. Five Days Notice seems to be doing very well in the U.K, whereas Under The Midnight Sky seems popular in the U.S, lol. I think just a few more sales and I might break into my first top 100 with Five Days Notice.

Excellent! I applaud your hard work...even after the book was written.

Missy Martine (missymartine) | 88 comments I just officially signed the contract for Siren/Bookstrand to publish my 7th book - a back to the past menage western titled "Anna Doubles Down" - I know, silly title - My heroine's best friend finds a picture of a woman with two men while she's doing research for a book she's writing - The picture could be Anna's twin - only problem - the picture was taking in 1871 in Hamilton, NV - The girls plan a vacation out west to visit the ghost town, all in the name of research. When Anna is exploring on her own she has a slight accident and falls down into the cellar of the saloon. Imagine her surprise when she wakes up in 1871! Because she read the book her picture was in, she knows that a huge disaster is about to befall the small mining town. Can she change history before it's too late?

This book was such fun to write - I went to Hamilton, NV to reasearch the area and the mill there so a lot of what's in the book is real - based on the actual -photos and headstones in their cemetary. I used real events and descriptions where I could. The title come from the fact it's a menage - and there's a section of the book where they guys attempt to teach Anna how to play Blackjack. It's due to be released in August.

It sounds really wonderful, Missy. Very intriguing and original, an historical menage! Way to go, lady. I love that you did primary research for the book, will make it authentic. Congratulations, sounds like a book I would like...cowboys, to boot!

message 7: by Missy (new)

Missy Martine (missymartine) | 88 comments Thanks Jean, but the cowboy factor is a little vague - in 1871 Hamilton,NV was a mining town. They mined silver with a mill right there for stamping. There were some cowboys and Indians still in the area - but a lot of miners stayed there in a bunkhouse and sent their money back east to their famiies. There werent' many women - only a few "tainted ladies" that worked out of saloons. The place still exists, as a ghost town. It was pretty cool to visit it and the old mine and mill.

To me anyone west of New Jersey can qualify as a cowboy! Miners work for me, too.

message 16: by Mysti (new)

Mysti Parker | 51 comments When you're slappin the table and cursing, you know it's good :)

Jean (jeanjay) | 249 comments Mod
There are plenty of orgasmic desserts, it just depends on your point of view...

message 18: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments Alex, congratulations. Give us some promo tips.

message 19: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair lol, last time I slapped a table and started cursing they asked me to leave.

Hey Elaine, I really don't do anything special. I just talk books on forums and book groups. I am planning to do a detailed blog soon on what works. On how to create talking points, inspire replies and get people talking on the subject you want. I feel mean actually, as I now realise that is actually a modification of a defusing the situation technique I used to teach my martial art students, lol. You re-direct the persons trail of thought to where you want it.

message 20: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments I can't wait to read the blog.

message 21: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair I have new reason to celebreate. Five Days Notice climbs to 18,000 in kindle U.S. That is my highest ranking on the U.S kindle for any of my books so I am really happy. This book continues to keep surprising me.

message 23: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair lol, I think with all this alcohol I am drinking I might develop a habit! lol.

message 24: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair I have great reason to celebrate today. Sales of Bitch, Under The Midnight Sky & Five Days Notice and dramatically increased in the U.K and Under The Midnight Sky & Five Days Notice continue to climb the U.S rankings. All my late nights are starting to pay off, lol.

message 26: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments Congratulations, Alex. That's no small achievement.

message 27: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair Thank you Jean, Elaine. I worked for hours last night covering forums, book groups, twitter, blogs and e-mails. It took ages and I didn't see any sales, lol, but waking up to sales increase across the board is nice. Still looking for my first consistant top 100. I have had Five Days Notice & Under Midnight Sky get into the top 100, but fall away, they have been in the top 200 ALOT, but I would love to have a book that holds its own in the top 100 for a month or so.

message 29: by Lee (new)

Lee Murphy (leeannsontheimermurphy) | 62 comments My first Rebel Ink Press title, planned for September, will now debut early on June 15! I'm very excited about this and am scrambling to start promoting in advance with just short of three weeks left before it's out!! The title of this contemporary romance is "Love Never Fails"!

message 30: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair Congratulations on the upcoming release. That has been brought forward a fair few months!!! You should post some excerpts in the promo section when you can, so we can have a read.

message 31: by Lee (new)

Lee Murphy (leeannsontheimermurphy) | 62 comments Thanks - I will. I'll post from it for Six Sentence Sunday and Sample Sunday (on Twitter too).

message 32: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (trishwilsonelizabethblack) | 30 comments My husband is finally employed since February after being without work for five years. It was horrible. I was carrying the whole family and I don't earn enough money yet to do that. I can breathe easier now and relax a bit. Sure made a huge difference, this job of his. :)

message 33: by Jean (new)

Jean (jeanjay) | 249 comments Mod
That's great news, Elizabeth! Glad you are returning to an even keel in your life. It's hard for a woman to support a family. I know, I've done it.

message 34: by Alex (new)

Alex Sinclair That is great news, Elizabeth!

message 35: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (trishwilsonelizabethblack) | 30 comments Thanks Jean and Alex. It was a horrible five years but we can relax now. Things are looking up. ;)

message 36: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments What wonderful news! I know yoiu are relieved.

message 37: by Lee (new)

Lee Murphy (leeannsontheimermurphy) | 62 comments I signed my third contract with Rebel Ink Press yesterday for my novel "In Love's Own Time". It's a different kind of story, a romance but it involves a ghost and time travel so the couple can get together and have a happily ever after.

message 38: by Jean (new)

Jean (jeanjay) | 249 comments Mod
Congratulations, Lee! Wonderful news.

message 39: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Cantrell (elainecantrell) | 87 comments I'll be on the lookout for your book, Lee. I've always wondered how you can have a romance with a ghost.

message 40: by Lee (new)

Lee Murphy (leeannsontheimermurphy) | 62 comments Thanks. Romance with a ghost is rather tricky - that's why I ended up with a time travel element or else I'd just have a reprise of "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" or something!!
