T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) I know I hate it beacause it just kills inspiration and happiness!

:(

message 2: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) i can't say that i hate it. i hate editing more than i hate writers block. and i think that if it weren't for writers block, i wouldn't put enough thought into what i write. but I don't LIKE it. it's frustrating. it's mind-boggling. it's hard to deal with.

message 3: by T.O.L.I. (new)

T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) that really is very well put, editing is the most terrible kind of torture for me!

message 4: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) oh me too! i'm beginning to see the beauty, in it, too. it is a very, slow, excrusiating process, though.

message 5: by T.O.L.I. (new)

T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) yea, Ijust wish my mind was perfect in grammar and such, but if it was where would be the fun of writing!

message 6: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) yeah! sometimes i make typos, otherwise grammar isn't my worst problem, although i do make mistakes. I am human. : ) it's in the development of the plot of characters and the clarity of writing that i have to try to fix.. it never works well.

message 7: by T.O.L.I. (new)

T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) yea like sometimes i know my characters so well in my head i forget to write everything i know about them down

message 8: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) yep... or i just figure every one else knows their nature and it makes sense why they are doing these things... i have to be careful.

message 9: by T.O.L.I. (new)

T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) yea it is a very very difficult thing to pay attention to

message 10: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ GASP!!! laina ur HUMAN?! lol. jk XD
anyway... yeah writer's block sucks. i get it on and off. usually it'll only last for a day or less. although sometimes it can last for months.
editing is cool cuz mostly the whole story is figured out; you just have to worry about little details here and there, spelling/grammar etc. it's a slow process, but it's in some ways a little easier than writing the story itself. in my opinion anyway.

message 11: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) It last for foreer for me!

message 12: by T.O.L.I. (new)

T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) its easier but it still annoys me!

message 13: by Seth (new)

Writer's block is just annoying right now for me because I'm REwriting the BEGINNING of the story and so I can't post the rest and get opinions on it. Also, it's taking me forever to get the Rewriting done! I don't mind editing unless it turns into a giant chain of all the things you have to change. Like you change one paragraph and then you have to got through the whole story and fix it to match.

message 15: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) haha brigid! actually i am a mouse, but that is a long story i will not go into. : ) My first draft is when I get ALL My ideas down. Even if i suspect something isn't going to work, I write it just in case it might. But that makes revision excruciating. I have so much to sort through and cut, and when I cut on chapter i have to put more information into another and I have to cut a few characters, pages, paragraphs, words!!! AHHH!! It is all very frusrating. Yet part of the writing life, so I love it! tee-hee-hee

Yeah, no matter how horrible it is to edit or revise it's better than most everything else! :) (especially when your done and you can write normal again lol!)

message 17: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) amen! haHA sorry hit the caps... lol

message 19: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ heehee

message 20: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) hmm, I actually don't mind writers block as much as everyone else seems too. Sure it's frustrating, but then I have more time to do other things. Like read and do homework.

message 21: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ yeah but that entire time that i'm reading/doing homework/whatever all i can think is 'I WISH I WAS WRITING RIGHT NOW!!!'

message 22: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) lol, I get too focused on what I'm doing to think that (usually!)
but sometimes I have a random urge to write, like earlier today! i felt like writing the ABC story, but I didn't start it. I think i'll do that now...

message 23: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ okay cool...

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Seth- Can u please write that other chapter? I'm clueless as to how to begin, and beyond busy. pretty please???

message 25: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) I cant Cali! It is your turn!

message 26: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (cheshire) I don't like writers block because it's so frustraiting to just sit there and stare at the page with no idea how to fill it!

message 27: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) i know!

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

sorry!!! man, i've got so much stuff to write down!!

message 29: by Seth (new)

Seth (ninjaaaaaofwritingbooks) GAH

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

is that even a real word, "GAH"?

message 31: by Laina (new)

Laina (laineyru) I think it's more of a sound actually... ahah. They should put it in the dictionary!

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

It's in Twilight, does that count?

message 33: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............

message 34: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ idk if it's a real word, but it is an interjection to express frustration! GAAAH!!!

message 35: by T.O.L.I. (new)

T.O.L.I. (taleoflostink) I like that word!

message 36: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I hate writer's block. I try just to not think about it and see if something comes up, but that is hard when you want to get on with your story. Sometimes, I can make it work, though. I like other people editing me stuff, and I like to edit other people's stuff. How else are you going to learn? I always welcome comments. I can't fix it if I don't know it's broke!
