I have been reading this, which is an omnibus containing three Ngaio Marsh murder novels - A Man Lay Dead: WITH Enter a Murder AND The Nursing Home Murder - and realised upon reading the first page of the second novel ('Enter a Murder') that it can fit 15.2A. Can I leave it aside to read on 1 June even though it is one of three novels in an omnibus?(Sorry if I am asking this in the wrong thread but I was wondering, generally, what the policy is on omnibuses as well.)
Help me fit the Outlander series! I read the 1st one, but I want to finish the series during this challenge!

We've posted an explanation of how to address this issue in Summer Challenge Rules see Formats #11

@ Erin - just remember you have the 25 and 20 point challenges still to come, so you have other opportunities to fit the books in
@ Erin, I have confirmed on my help thread you can count two of #2 Dragonfly in Amber, #3 Voyager, #4 Drums of Autumn, #7 An Echo in the Bone as the two books for my task 30.9. So you could do something like this:#2 Dragonfly in Amber, 'hot' cover, task 10.8 (assuming you have that edition with the orange cover)
#3 Voyager and #4 Drums of Autumn, task 30.9
#5 The Fiery Cross, long book with short title, task 5.9
#6 A Breath of Snow and Ashes, a middle book of a series, task 15.5
#7 An Echo in the Bone, reading more of an author you have read before, task 10.10
Plus you could borrow one from the library, free book, task 5.8.
So that is all of them covered with an extra option, without even using the 'any book' task (15.10)
:-)
Both American Lion and American Wife were read for this season's challenge, so you could use it for 30.10, as long as you could find another book with Lion or Wife in the title.
Jennifer N. wrote: "Does anyone have any ideas for An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser?"It may also be one of your top 10 longest to-reads (859pgs) - not sure what's on your shelf.
Gayla wrote: "Both American Lion and American Wife were read for this season's challenge, so you could use it for 30.10, as long as you could find another book with Lion or Wife in the title."Thats a great idea. Thanks!
Gayla wrote: "Both American Lion and American Wife were read for this season's challenge, so you could use it for 30.10, as long as you could find another book with Lion or Wife in the title."Also, American Buffalo and American Music, so you could also use those to find corresponding titles.
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein where can I put this book please?"I am going to use it for 5.3. It is about a dog and my copy has a dog on the cover.
I've already got a book for that chick. Mine is A Dog in a Million: My Life with Connie - Hazel Carter

It's on the 5.7 Don't Stop Reading list,
25.3 The Ice Cream Truck option 9- Denny is a race car driver,
30.1 Cheryl's Best Friends & Lovers B book #2- 7 words in the title,
There are a few other places depending upon die rolls

Fiona (Titch) wrote: "I've already got a book for that chick. Mine is A Dog in a Million: My Life with Connie - Hazel Carter"Also fits 5.8 (if you didn't buy it), 15.1 and 20.6
Fiona (Titch) | Bad Move & Bad Guys - Linwood Barclay? If they are set in Canada, which is possible since it looks like the writer has lived there since he was a small child, you could claim one for task 5.5.
5.4: double O in Linwood
5.9: long and short, looks like they are both over 400 words so would count as a long book with a short title
10.8, both have predominantly red covers
10.10 after you have read one, the second one would count as s/more
15.5 'Bad Guys' is a mid-series book
25.5 option 3: Zack Walker is an author and option 5: mystery book
30.10 half and half: you could use one of the following two-word titles that were read in the spring challenge: bad apple, bad blood, bad marie
Thanks Rosemary. I've decided to use both books for the following:5.9: long and short, looks like they are both over 400 words so would count as a long book with a short title - BAD GUYS
30.10 half and half: you could use one of the following two-word titles that were read in the spring challenge: bad apple, bad blood, bad marie - BAD MOVE
5.4 - repeated letter R in title or L or E in author's name5.8 - if you borrowed it or got it as a gift
10.3 - if you don't want to be on house arrest or in a cult
15.10/20.6 - might fit one of these open spots
30.1 - if you had a friend named Ellen
Or it could work in 30.10 if someone read a book with a two-word title that included "House" or "Arrest" (which seems likely).
Gayla wrote: "Or it could work in 30.10 if someone read a book with a two-word title that included "House" or "Arrest" (which seems likely)."Yes, spring reads included Ape House, House Rules, Open House
Repeated N and R in the author's name, so you could use it for 5.4.Set in France, so you could use it for 15.3.
Also for Chocolat: some of the covers are hot colours (10.8) but this depends on your edition. If you have read any Joanne Harris before you could use it for 10.10. I love this thread! It is almost as much fun as fitting one's own books!
you could use it msOPP's task, as set in a european country as well...do they travel out of france (I can't remember) - might fit for Rosemary's as well
Dee wrote: "do they travel out of france (I can't remember) - might fit for Rosemary's as well"I don't think they do, although I cannot remember exactly what happens at the end.
i don't remember from the movie, but it was a thought...lol!here's one - The Scarlet Letter - I didn't get red for Jenn Renee's task, so its out of the running for there
Hi everyone, I have to read The Tragedy of King Richard III for an exam next week, and would love to match it to something, but am unsure of what. Any help would be much appreciated :)
you could put it in the historical fiction 20 pointer; you could read it as a play for the 15 point task
Dee wrote: "you could put it in the historical fiction 20 pointer; you could read it as a play for the 15 point task"I've done the 15 point one with the play, so I will put it down for the 20 point historical fiction one. Thank you! :)
Dee wrote: "here's one - The Scarlet Letter - I didn't get red for Jenn Renee's task, so its out of the running for there"How about 5.4 (double T in Letter); or 10.5 - if you have given 5 stars to other classic American novels, enter them and it might come up; or might fit 15.9 for you since its rating is pretty low at 3.27; or 20.7 historical fiction; or 25.3 option 6 made into a movie ...
i think i'm going to do double T - I had a mystery in there, but I can move it to another task - thanks!
someone read Seventh Son last season - so you could use it for one of the books in Coralie's task, if you can find a book with seventh in the titleProdigal Summer was also read - so if you found a second book with summer in the title
Leigh Ann wrote: "I'm trying to fit Prodigal Son. Any suggestions?"DK is the airline code for Denmark, so you could use it for 15.8.
You ladies are awesome!!! Thanks! I don't have a book for either of those tasks yet so I can make it work AND fit more of the series in too!
♥Meagan♥ wrote: "I'm trying to fit A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. Does anyone have any suggestions?"It could fit under 5.4 because it has a double letter in it (Terrible).
It's also on the Ultimate Teen Reading List, so it could fit under 5.7
It is set in the United Kingdom, so it could work for 15.3 as a country that doesn't use the Euro
It could also work for 20.7. It is a historical fiction book that took place 20 years before it was published.
For 25.3, it could work for the Bubble Gum Bar or Big Dipper Cone
For 30.4, it could work for the 4th option, as it's set in a European country
would add, there potentially you could use it for Coralie's Task...there is probably a book that was read which had one of those words in the title...but you'd have to look at the spreadsheet
♥Meagan♥ wrote: "I'm trying to fit A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. Does anyone have any suggestions?"It could also be used for 10.6. Felicity and Pippa are lesbians, although nobody comes right out and says it until The Sweet Far Thing, the last in the series, but there are clues throughout this book.
If someone needs a little help, I have a book called The Summer Book by Tove Jansson
in Book Swap if anyone needs a book. It could fulfill any of the following tasks;5.1 Takes place on an island
5.4 double m, double o and double s
15.3 Takes place in Finland
10.3 If, like me, the thought of spending time on a little isolated island in the cold Northern Sea gives you the willies
20.3 or...If the above setting is your dream come true
5.8 If bookSwap counts as "free"
30.10 Read a book with any of the three words in its title?
30.6 If you rolled a 6 for the second task.
30.4 Summer in title and set in a European country.
20.5 Anyone with Scandanavian ancestors?
