Alina ducked behind an abandoned building as a group of soldiers ran past her. That was close, she though as she accidentally stumbled into the doorway. She looked around. The place looked terrible. She wondered if anyone was there.
Alina thought she heard someone muttering up ahead. She tensed, slowly taking a step further into the building. She accidentally stepped on a few stones, and they clattered against each other, echoing off the walls. She froze.
Alina flinched when she heard someone fighting off some of the soldiers. When they called out, she tensed. "Who...who's there?" she asked, her voice shaking.
Alina took a quick step back. She hadn't been expecting someone to jump out at her. She tripped on a fallen wood board, and fell backwards, scraping her elbows on the floor.
((Oooooh, that's not good. Sorry, I had to rush offline, so I couldn't read the post very well...))
Alina inhaled sharply, scrambling backwards. They were here. She wondered what happened to the other runner, Marc.
Alina inhaled sharply, scrambling backwards. They were here. She wondered what happened to the other runner, Marc.
Not having to be told twice, Alina hurried to her feet and turned around, running for the door. She grabbed her pack as she went, knowing she wouldn't be able to find food for a while. Once she reached the doorway, she glanced back once before running out of the building, heading south.
Alina glanced over at the person running with her, at first thinking it was a soldier. Relief washed over her when she realized it wasn't. They reached a corner that seemed familiar to her. "Right," she said instinctively, heading in that direction.
Alina looked back at him. "No! You need to get somewhere safe. I know there's a safe house down the street, behind an old fast food sign. Besides, I have a plan on how to distract them."
Near the end of the street, and old fast food sign was propped up against what appeared to be a brick wall. Alina looked around quickly, making sure no one was looking before prying open the front part of the sign, which swung forward, revealing a dark staircase. "After you," she said.
Alina nodded, closing the door behind her as they made their way down the staircase. "It does. But once you find other people that are doing it too, It gets a little better. By the way, I should probably warn you about Skylar before we get down there..."
Alina sighed. "She's a girl I ran into a while back, who's also on the run, kind of. She's not exactly running away from the soldiers, but she's trying to find her brother and her boyfriend. So...try not to insult the soldiers when she's around. She's been really impatient and moody since the war started..."
Alina smiled faintly before continuing down the staircase until they reached a door. She pulled a chain from around her neck and selected one of the many keys, placing it in the lock and opening the door. She held it open for Marc, looking anxiously behind them.
Belladonna watched the town burn from her position by a house a mile from the town. The next town was several miles away, and she was already feeling faint with hunger. There wasn't anything to eat in the abandoned house she had recently taken over. Belladonna stepped back into the shadows of the porch and sat on one of the chairs, holding her broken arm carefully and adjusting the splint she had made for it.
After watching the town burn for a while, she turned and walked back into the building.
Soldiers began to flood into the safehouse, and Alina and Skyler ran for the staircase. Without looking back, they ran down the street, hoping the others made it out.
Belladonna sighed and looked at the dagger on the table. She had thought sooo many times about just killing herself. It's not like she had anything to look to. She didn't know if her family was alive off in England, she couldn't hear anything, and she was starving.
Belladonna picked up the dagger and flipped it over in her hands. Thinking how easy it would be to just slit her arm. Hit an artery and bleed to death...
Belladonna made up her mind and set the edge of the blade on her wrist. She slowly started to apply force, but found that she just couldn't do it. She couldn't end her life. Feeling like a complete failure now, she let the knife fall to the floor as she leaned back against the wall. Tears sliding down her cheeks.
As she ran through the streets, Skylar looked around frantically, trying to find her brother or boyfriend. They had to be around here somewhere....
((Yes, I mentioned it on her character thing and a couple times in my posts...))((grrr... and now I can't post anything. :/))
Belladonna was unconscious.... ((can we skip to later because two of five character are unconscious and nobody can interact at all....))
((Isn't John kind of power-playing a little? I mean, in one post, he captures two people that are used to escaping from soldiers...))
((...That's okay, as long as you give the other people in the RP time to make their characters react. Otherwise it's really hard for them to follow what's going on))
((Ooooh. Dramatic! :P ))Belladonna hadn't been able to hear any of the screaming and shouting going on, and was just now starting to slip back into consciousness.
Belladonna opened her eyes and blinked tiredly up at the ceiling. She slowly forced herself to look around the room, and, noticing everyone's attention was on Marc, she quietly started to move towards the exit.
Belladonna just looked at him in confusion. For all she knew he could be saying to take her out back and kill her.
Belladonna frowned, shaking her head. It was a thing that would take time to heal. All she could hear was a loud, painful ringing in her head that wouldn't stop. She eventually would regain her hearing, but it would take time. Belladonna didn't know that at all. She thought she would be stuck deaf for the rest of her life.
(one sec)Jasmine growled "this is a screwed up world and i will kill you if i need to" she stood up "tell me who's your boss!"
Belladonna used that chance to try and slip away from them all. She had no idea at all who she was with, if they were going to kill her, or anything. She had just managed to make it past the guard and to the door when she collapsed from exhaustion. It had been a long day and she hadn't eaten in around five days.
Belladonna tried to scramble away from him, but only had enough strength to back up against the wall. Holding her broken arm carefully she eyed the commando nervously. "Please don't kill me..." She begged pathetically.
Belladonna could tell he was saying something, just what it was she didn't know. "I can't hear you. An explosion took out my hearing..."
