I too am on summer break, yay! I will be clerking for a judge this summer, so that will take up a lot of time. Aside from that, I plan to read a lot. Since it is about a billion degrees here in Tucson during the summer, I will be glad to have a pool to lounge out by, and read by, but I am going to have to wear about a zillion layers of sunblock.I am also dating this guy, but he lives like 2 hours away (I met him through friends) so I am sure I'll be spending time with him this summer. :)
I have my mom's wedding to go to (and I am the Maid of Honor) in Napa Valley, California in less than 1 month. At the end of June I am set to go to Vegas for my friend's bachelorette party, and then to her wedding in July (though technically, she is already married . . . they eloped after he got back from being deployed in Iraq, but they decided to do the wedding for the family anyway).
Then I'll probably be in Vegas again after the 4th of July since the rates are SUPER cheap, and you can have a lot of fun for very little $ (it helps that I'm not a gambler, that saves a lot of $ in Vegas!).
I may also go boating at Lake Powell, since my grandparents have a condo right at the edge of Lake Powell. :) So, it should be a good summer, and possibly my last summer, since I am slated to graduate from law school in under 1 year! (YIKES!)
Camille, enjoy your summer sounds alittle busy but alot of fun planned!Rachel, try and get some time to relax b4 school starts again!
I've got a job! I'm going to be working in the call centre for Scottish Water for 20 hours a week. But I don't start until mid-June so I'll have plenty of time to relax before then :) It's only part time but I figure it gives me time to do plenty of reading as well! Hope everyone else is making some nice summer plans. Camille, your summer sounds like it's going to be very eventful! I hope you have lots of fun in your last summer :)
that is great Rachel. trying to make plans in keeping granboys busy w/ camps and different places. only have 2 more days of school! cant believe anothr year has gone by so fast.
How old are your grandsons? I can't believe how fast this year has gone either. I used to remember the summers dragging on forever as a child, but I imagine this one will go by rather fast. My brother (he's 14) doesn't finish school until the end of June. It's quite strange to laze around the house while he's still doing homework and studying.

I very wise pastor once told me "Life is like a roll of toilet tissue. The closer you get to the end of the roll, the faster it goes." I do believe he's right. :-)

i agree w/ that whole heartedly!!
Oh my goodness, my summer is insane already! I am working basically full time for a judge who is on the family law bench, and so every day feels like being on the television show Jerry Springer. It's insane! But entertaining. . . need to find more time to read though!
After a very long delay I am back! I have missed everyone greatly. I was occupied with a couple of weddings, several trips, spending time with my sick (but now better) Grandmother, and more. How is everyone?
Yeah Camille is back! It's been rather quiet here. Things are good here! I'm trying to balance my free time between knitting and reading and knitting has been getting more time! :( I am enjoying Lilly's Wedding Quilt and I am looking forward to seeing how things work out in the book. It's super hot here 95+ degrees but feels like 100+. That's not normal for New England, although it is for Arizona! I've been to Phoenix in September and I almost dried up so I can imagine it in July! LOL!
Sometimes quiet is nice Diane. :) Unfortunately my crazy schedule has been partially due to an ill Nana (mom's mom) who (thankfully) is now well again, but I found out today my paternal Grandfather is in the hospital so I may end up heading off to New Mexico here shortly to see that set of grandparents... And help them out with some legal documents which they need but don't currently have. Summer is not as relaxing as I had hoped. Hahaha.
Just an update: my grandfather passed away a couple days ago. He was from an Amish family (the youngest of 10) which explains part of where my interest in the Amish stems from. He was 88, so it wasn't unexpected but still is sad. :( We hope to spread his ashes back in Lancaster where he was from.
I'm sorry for your loss Camille. I hope you will be able to go with your family to make the trip to PA. I know you will love it there. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear of your grandfather's passing Camille. You and your family are in my prayers. I hope you can be with your grandfather for his final trip to Lancaster.

I hope your family is coping okay in this time, Camille. Even when someone has lived a long life, it's still sad to see them go. My Grandma passed away at 83 just before Christmas, and even though she'd been in ill in hospital for a few weeks it still somehow comes as a shock, so I know how you feel. Will be keeping you in our prayers tonight.
Still up on Maine until Sunday. The weather has been pretty cooperative! Hubby took our rent-a-kid (we took one of his cousin's kids with us) to the water park today. I can't stand them so I stayed behind at the campground. Our other friends are trying to figure out what to do. I'm hoping to get some quiet reading and knitting time.

How about everyone else? Anyone got anything exciting planned, or just looking forward to enjoying the sunshine after the harsh winters many of us had?
