Ian Peterson (kolonelklink) Who cannot wait for the last installment of one of the best scifi rpgs out there? I certainly can't.

Jason (darkfiction) | 422 comments I played the first one and loved it. I have yet to play part 2....

Ian Peterson (kolonelklink) I actually thought part 2 was better, but more for the characters and atmosphere, the overall story was pretty cliche scifi, but not horrible

Kevin Mass Effect is good, the gameplay, the story, npc's, general atmosphere are all great. It does have a bunch of annoyances too though. Boring side missions, crappy controls on the car/tank thing, really crappy item system, ...

Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games ever made imo.
The NPCs and atmosphere are even better than in ME1. They worked a lot of kinks out of the gameplay and made an very streamlined game. They went a bit too far in simplifying the skillpoint system and item systems though. Those could've been a bit more meatier.

I'm really looking forward to Mass Effect 3. I just hope that they don't botch it like they did Dragon Age 2. What a dissapointment. Get the Witcher 2 instead for your fix of 'dark' fantasy cRPG.

Jason (darkfiction) | 422 comments I'm going to have to check out ME 2 sometime. Perhaps when I'm done with Red Dead Redemption.

Ian Peterson (kolonelklink) Oh man, Red Dead Redemption is easily one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had.

Jason (darkfiction) | 422 comments Klink, so far I'm loving it! It's tons of fun. I don't get to play it often though. :(

Ian Peterson (kolonelklink) It's the best, and undead nightmare, the expansion dlc, is pretty fun too!

SubterraneanCatalyst (thelazyabsentmindedreviewer) | 47 comments <-- ME addict here. I personally thought that although ME1 had a lot of issues (such as ranging over boring planets and fighting the same bandits) I liked it better than ME2. The boss at the end of ME2 was comical (IMHO) and I hated the new hover craft missions. I actually prefer the Mako over the hovercraft..I had a lot of fun using the cannon and then jumping out of it to kill Geth on foot.
ME2 was a lot of fun and slicker than ME1- I just hope they give us the ending we need for ME3..biting my nails for it.

Jenny (jennyc89) The hover craft was so freaking annoying. But I loved ME2! I actually haven't played ME1, but I plan to before ME3 comes out.

Chris (necaros) | 28 comments ME2 was such an amazing game for me, I loved the Dirty Dozen type feel, where you put together a team for an impossible mission. And, the team you assemble was really stand out. I felt the the semi-linear structuring of the second helped move the game along in a better way. The locations in the second were fantastic, it lacked the sense of exploration, but removed so much of the cookie cutter feel of the first. I did miss driving around in the Mako surprisingly, never did the hovercraft stuff, I'll wait until my play-through once the third nears, and choose a couple dlc packs then.
I didn't mind that allot of the item and weapon systems were simplified, less I have to monkey with. The skill tree was a little thin, but no big deal it's class based as is.
The final boss and areas were awesome, still better than the first.
There were many stand-out moments in this game, they really pushed for an epic feel and got very close to it.
There is a strong shift of how the over-all game plays and feels from 1st to 2nd, less Star Trek and more Firefly.
I loved just about everything in the second, one of my all time favorite games. I cannot freaking wait to play through again soon, and eagerly await the third even more.
