i think it's just 99 pages! well, according to Good Reads. i might actually succeed in my quest to be caught up and on time for our group reads.
A lot of people voted and a lot of people voted for this book...i have two thoughts: 1) if it really is short and enough people join the conversation, we might identify a spin-off book and/or 2) if the book is hard for many members to get in time, we could choose an alternate. thoughts?
Both of those would be fine with me. My library has three copies available, and I believe you can find copies on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc, but I'm willing to read a different book also.
I'd be willing to do either of those things. The library system near me seems to have three copies available, and I know Barnes and Noble and Amazon both sell it. If it's really that much of a struggle we could re-vote or something...maybe we could have two books this month and you can read one that's easier to get? I feel badly changing books because there is so much interest in this book.
I just picked up my copy. This book is going to be a super SUPER quick read. I think it's designed more for people who might do this for a living, but I'm stoked to read it. I believe it was written by the same folks that brought us the The Post Carbon Reader: Managing the 21st Century's Sustainability Crises.
i'm looking forward to this. we are in the midst of our first major heat wave and we are having some serious power issues. related? i'm thinkin'....
Already? It has barely decided to be above freezing here it seems like, though there have already been serious storms...probably all related somehow. The Earth seems to work like that.
Yeah, we had three days of high 90s and high humidity. There were pockets of outages, one involving a mjor cable underground but it's not clear if the weather had anything to do with it. All commuter trains were moving slowly, though...definitely heat related.
That's terrible!I'm going to have to read this book quickly and give it back, apparently the type of inter-library loan I have it under is non-renewable.
i'm going to have to order a copy. none exist in the libraries here! and no e-book, either! :(i think while i wait for it to arrive i'll read On the Grid: A Plot of Land, An Average Neighborhood, and the Systems that Make Our World Work. i already have a copy of that.
