Agreed. Some parts of HS are great: More activities, you meet new people, explore new interests. And others are bad: Lots of stress, more peer pressure, and homework, homework, homework!
Haha, well. I'm from Australia. So, high school is probably different then it is in the US. But, definitely the homework and assignment. Honestly...we get way too many. Though, on the other hand. We do get a lot more freedom, and I spend more time with my friends.
im in High school, and they had to add snow days, and to make sure ppl show up, they put FINALS on the days!!!! i have FINALS on the LAST 2 DAYS OF SCHOOL!!!!!!*deflates*

Pleased to tell you that i have to spend all this week doing half yearlies, not to mention the assignments that are due. *honestly, do they want me to sit around doing assignments or do they want me to study for tests?* Fingers crossed they'll be easy. Only one i am kind of nervous about is Japanese, but then again it should be okay.

Haha, well that is awesome. It's funny when teacher like you or think that your a really good student so they let you get out of things.
I remember being so excited to go to high school and now I'm just like blllllllllllllllllahhhhhh be over already! XD
i know right, your all excited, but once you get to high school you can't wait for it to be over. Especially seeing i'm Australian, so high school goes for 6 years.
Savannah wrote: "i know right, your all excited, but once you get to high school you can't wait for it to be over. Especially seeing i'm Australian, so high school goes for 6 years."6 years??? Are you there longer or do you just go in there earlier than americans? (we start in 9th grade)
Savannah wrote: "Ahh, good luck!! I have a maths half yearly tomorrow, should be fun. :)"You mean a mid-term?

Nah, half yearly. I'm from Aus. and our school year goes from January/February to Decemeber. So we do our half yearly tests in the middle of the second term which is in May. :)

Haha, yeh. High school here starts in yr 7 and goes to yr 12. We don't have a middle school, staight from primary into high school.
Savannah wrote: "Scarlet wrote: "Savannah wrote: "i know right, your all excited, but once you get to high school you can't wait for it to be over. Especially seeing i'm Australian, so high school goes for 6 years...."That sucks...there should be more of an age division.
Haha, yeh....i can imagine if they tried to do it in America, people would hate the idea. Same with school uniforms. But I don't really get a choice, so i just have to go with it i guess. :)
Yeah people hate uniforms here, though they usually only enforce them in private schools or boarding/charter schools etc.
Mmm, yeh. Private schools usually make there unifroms really bad, like there is a catholic school near where I live and the girls literally have to wear their skirts and dresses down to their ankles. That is way overdoing it...Uniforms are't that bad, as long as they aren't really ugly and you get a bit of leverage with them. Like at my school you have to wear the school top, and pants/skirt that is black but they are't fussy about it. Which is a good thing.
Thinking about it, my high school which is form 7-12 has about 650-700 students in it, but in America aren't the schools like heaps bigger. That is probably why there isn't more of an age diversion. Because if they did split it a lot of schools would only have 200 kids at the most, and the Aus. government is debating at the moment if they should keep funding really small schools. Anyways, that was just a random thought from the other day... :)
Ahk, that most suck. I don't think enforcing really strcit rules is always a good thing, sometimes it just make people want to break them more. :P
wwwwwwwwhhh! i miss those skirts! i havn't wore them more than a year coz our school is central and we have to wear salwar from grade/class9.a salwar is a indian hindu dress with a big loose pants and chunni.
i miss the skirt!!!:(
At my private school the uniforms really aren't that bad. The shirt is just a polo shirt and our skirt just has to be longer than 4 inches over our knees. My high school is tiny, we have only about 400 people in all four grades.

Don't you normally have finals on the last days of school? At my school the last week of school is all finals.
Savannah wrote: "Ahk, that most suck. We're also not allowed buns. And guess what, everybody wears side pony tails and buns!

That is so super strict! At my high school we can wear our hair however as long as it isn't died an unnatural color. And the guys' hair has to be above their ears.
