MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments OMG! I just finished watching!

Who watched???

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Ugh! My daughter came up to me at about 6:30 and held my hand and said "Daddy...you could spend some time with me and take me to watch Kung Fu Panda 2....if ya Want to....*cue saucer size manipulative brown eyes gazing adoringly into my face*

*sigh* Suffice it say we got back ten minutes after her bed time and SYTYCD premiere will be on my DVR til tomorrow. Fricking fast learnin little rigaragmizaroofa...*continues mumbling under breath*

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never watched this show. I'm assuming it's a dance contest of some sort?

Also, self, your daughter is a Boss.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

*nods* yup...she's a hustler. *shakes head*

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Now I've got that Kat Williams stand up in my head.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments I have it on DVR. I'm getting read to watch it commercial free! :-D

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay so I officially have a favorite! Jess, the 18 year old jazz dancer is freaking uh-mazing! I wanted to reach thru my tv and full on pimp slap Nigel and Mary for not putting him straight thru!

message 8: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments OMG, the crazy girl with Ringo Starr?? I could barely look at her.

message 9: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments Tracey wrote: "That was horrifying. Actual Ringo Starr is probably sitting somewhere laughing his bum off - but I'm still feeling violent toward the creature she called her father. Do not. Screw. With the Bea..."

LOL!

The thing is, I can see why she's so crazy. HE'S crazy. She had to grow up with that. Maybe it was a lesson to parents out there: your children will act like this if you as a parent act like that. Moral of the story: Don't be crazy.

I agree, SYTYCD rarely has the crazies on the air...but they do have their favorites. Remember Sex? (I think that was his name) He was on several different season's auditions. Last year I think he came with him mom (and Nigel & the mom got into an argument).

message 10: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I didn't really care for that Jess jazz dancer guy's attitude. He kind of annoyed me. I thought he was a great dancer though.

What about that Krumper, the one who was so cocky he dissed Lil C and Russell in one breath? LOL I love Krump as a dance style (I think it's fascinating to watch) but I didn't care for that guy much. I hope Lil C gives him hell. :D

I really loved Lil O though... The last one of the night, in the green. He was great. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjsxBJZ9VHc

message 11: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Ooh, I really did like the one dude who was 9/10s naked too. Cuz he could dance good. :D *wipes drool*

message 12: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments Tracey wrote: "I didn't want to like Jess, but he was really good. I didn't think the disser-krumper was that great... He was powerful, and that was the angriest-looking performance I've ever seen, and then he ..."

Well, honestly...that was rather un-angry crumping, lol. I can see why he said he was prasing...

I've seen waaaay angrier, "street cred" crumping. Shoot, the group from America's Best Dance Crew was MUCH angrier. :-) He's crumping was rather melodious (is that a word? I don't thnk so) to me.

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Tracey wrote: "And the stage-punching. "

Maybe that was him symbolically punching Satan in the face?

message 14: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments I didn't like his attitude at all, either. I felt like he was trying to give all this 'tude...and for what? Attitude won't get him on the show.

message 15: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments My wife loves this show! She keeps some episodes on the pvr so she can rewatch them in the off season.

I don't like it much, myself. Those kids can do some crazy stuff, but it mostly makes me feel a little nauseous.

Just a little, though. :)

LOL

message 16: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments Oh man, I love this show! :-)

Another great episode, I'm so glad Mary's back!

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved the sisters at the end too! I didn't like Jeanine based solely on the fact that she beat Brandon. Travesty! With that being said...ohmygawdsheshot. Her hair is just stunning. The rest of her isn't bad either :)

message 18: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) | 114 comments How can you not like Jeanine?? Way better than Brandon.

Jason - your wife isn't the only one. I admit to having all the dancing days of season 4 on my dvr still. That was the best season ever.

Only saw part of the show last night, Hero of Ages was calling my name. I did see the crazy Ringo Starr girl though. I actually wondered if she hired an actor to play her dad because people can't really be that crazy, right?

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh my gosh...what show were You watching?! Brandon was the best dancer Ever. Like, Ever.

message 20: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) | 114 comments ☠The Dread Pirate Grant☠ wrote: "Oh my gosh...what show were You watching?! Brandon was the best dancer Ever. Like, Ever."

LOL. Brandon had great technique, but I think Jeanine was a better performer and well-rounded dancer. But to each his own :)

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I do agree that she was a better performer. Janine's likeability won her that competition (imo). Brandon was just amazing and very technically proficient but his personality didn't always come across.

Hmm...was Kayla, Kopono's partner during Addiction? Cause that was one of the best performances, Ever.

message 22: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments I have to say that Jeanine was rather forgettable to me. I never saw what others saw in her. Totally had to be told who she was, lol.

I'm glad that her sister did well.

I'm sorta sad that it seems that they will do the same thing as last season again. I was hoping for the old format.

Speaking of old, did yall see Will's dreads??? Loverly!

I LOVED Kupono!! I loved that performance so much.

UGH! Fox needs to sell DVDs of SYTYCD already!!

message 24: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I thought that Jeanine was much better than Brandon. I agree with you Grant that he was a very amazing dancer, but he wasn't much of a performer, and his attitude annoyed me. Like he thought that he was the star and that he was going to win and all the other contestants were just extras or something. It was really off-putting.

Every Thursday I would hope for him to be in the bottom, and when he kept making it through week after week, it annoyed me. LOL I wanted something to humble him!

message 25: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) That makes sense... But come on... If Fox has enough money to fly thousands of people to Vegas for a day (in most cases - and a week for a few) they can give me some DVDs dammit! LOL

Really? I felt the complete oppsite. I loved him! He seemed to be more mischivious than anything else, to me. Plus with Mia being such a bitch to him on a regular basis - he seemed to get defensive after a while (which I totally understand).

message 27: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Oh I can understand... Mia brings out the defensive in everyone. :P (LOVE her.) But Brandon just rubbed me the wrong way.

I love the technically proficient dancers, like Will and Danny and Neil and the like, but I really prefer the up&comers like Josh and Russell - the ones who really get to learn and grow and succeed. :D

Yeah, I love her too - but not as a judge, lol.

message 29: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I love her as a GUEST judge. Not a full time judge.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Mia is a total bitch when she wants to be. She sucks balls as a judge because she holds different folks to different standards which is Ridiculous. As a choreographer, well that woman has something special inside her. She's Uhmazering. I loved Brandon and Danny but I understand their personalities. I think on each of their prospective seasons, they both would have won hands down if they had personalities that didn't come across as superior or condescending. As far as dance goes, they were both just exquisite to behold.

MrsJ, his dreads were Awesome! He was borderline unrecognizable though! I had to really look before I saw him under the facial hair and dreads!

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi everyone. This is my first post here, so hi, but more importantly, OMG! SYTYCD fans! Screw reading! I get to watch two series-yours and the Canadian version starting June 20. No favs yet this season, and why do they no longer berate the really shit dancers on the program?

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

☠The Dread Pirate Grant☠ wrote: "Oh my gosh...what show were You watching?! Brandon was the best dancer Ever. Like, Ever."

No. Will.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

There was a Will? I don't remember this Will of which you speak. Obviously whatever paltry memory of him I had was overwhelmed in the shadow of Brandon's vast awesomeness ;)

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

And welcome to the group, Jenny :) Go introduce yourself in the introductions thread!

message 36: by James (new)

James Gonzalez | 131 comments This is actually my favorite reality show. I love the different styles of dancing they do, and nothing beats watching a performance that just stirs emotions deep inside you (i.e. Mia's Addiction routine).

James Gonzalez | 131 comments Tracey wrote: "I think Kupono and Mark have been my favorites. I think. We need another great Hawaiian boy!"

Mark has been getting lots of work since the show. Anyone else see him as Lady Gaga's lead dancer on the American Idol finale?

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Still love Hawk and Dominic-happy he's on Dance Crew. Are you able to see Canadian show? Because hello, Nico Archambault...

Yup. He was the one who jumped off the cliff with her. I didn't see him in Glee. I did see him in this show my kids watch...Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr.

That season was amazing. Joshua, Twitch, and Will were so fun to watch, and I am completely in love with Chelsie. Sexiest dancer I've ever seen on the show.

message 42: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, *good karma* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments My favorites have been Will, Danny, Benji, Benji's sister, Holly, and Travis. And Sabra. LOVED Sabra.

message 43: by Annette (new)

Annette Hart | 73 comments It must be late... I started reading this thread, became very confused and only half way through realised you were all talking about the US version of SYTYCD. If I said I loved Katrina the ballet dancer no one would know who I was talking about!

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

I wish I could watch all the foreign versions of the show. Gotta be missing out!

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't believe it's already Vegas week! So happy to see Adam!

TinaNoir | 177 comments MrsJoseph wrote: "My favorites have been Will, Danny, Benji, Benji's sister, Holly, and Travis. And Sabra. LOVED Sabra."

Oh, MrsJ, those are my exact faves too. But I'd also add in Brandon. When in came down to Sabra and Danny in the end I was tickled b/c I didn't care which one won.

I am bummed this year, tho. This is the tail end of my busy season at work that I haven't had a moment to watch the auditions. They are still on my DVR, untouched.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Oooooh sorry about your fav going home already Tracey!

LOL, Tracey I'll bring popcorn.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 7282 comments Oh man! I still have another 30 mins of vegas week to watch. Ok, I'm loving the sisters but the 1 who keeps passing out needs to get it together. I'm not a big fan of the latin blonde girl. I want to toss a steak at her or something.

And can I say that I LOVE Wadi and Little O? I was sad that the Patti girl left, too.
