Savannah | 23 comments Okay so if you had to choose any type of Fury to wield what would it be and why? You have to choose one cause everyone wanted to control all six like a High Lord this thread would get boring LOL.

I myself favor earth. If I controlled an earth fury, he would take on the shape of a fox with green eyes who I'd name Lauzi. I chose earth because, lets face it, earth waves are COOL and so is the ability to track people using the ground. Plus, I like how the emotions you can control using earth furies :D

Water.

Healing, emotion/mind reading, distance communication, and doesn't water fury also allow for shape-shifting? Isn't that how Max impersonated the High Lord back in the second book?

Also, if near any body of water I'd say water fury is epic in battle :)

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 115 comments Torn between fire and metal... Both seem to be extremely useful in the books context. From emotion control to the array of skills it would I think depend on if I were living in the Codex worlds or this one. LOL

yup yup and lady aquitaine likes to use it in the first and fourth books to disguise herself as
servant girls and Odiana uses it too. Watercrafters are sooo sneaky :D

Fire in this world would be super powerful. Heck, wouldn't be scary if Hitler was a fire crafter or someone like the terrorists? That would be nightmarish. And metals are cool but id be scared of not knowing if i was hurt or not lol

Dana (erato) | 68 comments In this day and age, metalcrafting would be awesome!

However, I'm down with the water fury as well. All the things that Gregory listed...

And also for something that I though of at a point when I read the series a second time. It is rather morbid and not something Jim ever touched on. It came to me when reading the scene where Gaius snaps the necks of all the Immortalis at one time. I think watercrafters would actually be the best warriors of them all. If you can pull water out of anything, can't you pull water out of enemies? Since suffocating the Vord was one easy way to kill them, couldn't you just pull the water out of them? Any creature for that matter and you wouldn't have to do 'all' of it, just an important area like the heart or head or the Vord's funky little croach pocket.

Like I said, morbid and 'eeewwwww' icky, but I'm thinkin' fairly effective!

And the shapeshifting/disguise feature would rock! You would never need a costume for a party. ;)

Can you image Isana going to battle at sea? Like real battle and not just escaping after killing the other ship's witchmen. Whew, baby! If she could stay sane and focused while bonding with the ocean fury that would redefine epic.

message 11: by Adria (new)

Adria | 7 comments I would want to have a water fury because of the sense of emotions and healing properties.

{Jayhawk} (hollyredmond) | 3 comments Doesn't anyone like air or wood?- still not what i'd choose, but there's got to be some people who do?

message 14: by Mayko (new)

Mayko Water!

I'm a water-sign in RL. I can't see myself wielding any other element as readly :)

Dixie Goode (pandorasecho) | 21 comments My motto has always been that if you live by the sea, your life is good enough - so I must be another for water. In fact as a toddler I remember refusing to answer to Dixie and being furious with my parents for not naming me "Flipper"

message 16: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 3 comments I think my own temperament leans more towards water. But I bet I would wish I had fire or air.

message 17: by Archimedes Grimm (new)

Archimedes Grimm | 5 comments Water crafting, definitely. I love the feel of water as it trickles through my hands - now imagine being able to shape it, to collect water from the air to cool you down, or to be able to shed it after walking in the rain. Not to mention all the other benefits already mentioned by others. No water crafter need ever feel insecure - you can make your outside reflect exactly who you think you should be. Then think about how much of our planet is covered by water - think about what you could do with that. And walking on water or riding a wave must be amazing. Water crafting also leaves you with the greatest capacity to do good (in my opinion) - not only the healing factor, but how easy it must be to get to the heart of an issue when mediating a discussion or disagreement. AND IT WOULD HELP WITH THE FREAKING HUMIDITY IN THE SUMMER! Just saying...
