The Book Loved By Everyone But You discussion

I've read all the books, including "Breaking Dawn," and I just don't understand the hype. I mean, they're okay even though the writing is really stilted and basic and the obsessive love for Edward gets old.

I've put up with a lot of bad vampire fiction in my time but "Breaking Dawn" really takes the cake. I found myself laughing during parts of it at the sheer stupidity of what was going on.

nope, I have to agree. I mean, I read the series initially because my daughter was about to, and I wanted to know what all the hype was about. But BD? About as awful as VD, IMHO (altho I haven't had this last one!)

Yeah, so I used to like Twilight. But then my friend emailed me this article that honestly scared me a little bit. It was talking about how the stories themselves don't line up with Christian values and teachings and how the reader should not be sucked into it. Now, it scares me just how many people are obsessed with it. It's unhealthy and scary and really not good. I mean, some little girl apparently asked Robert Pattinson to bite her. She was five!

I read this series and I liked all except Breaking dawn. I found breaking dawn just far surpasses all imagination.

However in terms of Edward love I mean it DOES get a bit old but at the same time in some ways the love story is interestsing and as such sort of like a romeo and juliet type thing that is so intense that I quite liked it. The movies get annoying with her just saying "come on just bite me Edward." That gets old. But the books were alright I found.
