Contrary to what I thought, the book was amazing. As for the writing, it was witty, funny, enchanting and so intelligent.

Review: okay so I'm usually super stingy with my 5 star reviews but I more than "really liked" this book so I didn't think 4 stars was enough. Come on with the half stars goodreads! Anyway, I have always heard awesome things about this book but I was really turned off by the cutesy cover. I'm so glad I gave it a chance because I loved this book. The cover does not do it justice at all, it's a lot more dark than I thought.

I'm always a sucker for a book about a girl at boarding school (LOVE the Private and Privilege series) but paranormal has always just been eh for me. I like Twilight and Sookie but thats about it. I thought the writing was well done in this book, and it had me actually laughing at some points. The twists in the plot were well developed, and a couple I didn't see coming which I appreciate because YA can be really predictable. Another good point for me was that I actually liked Sophie the main character, she reminded me a little of Anna in Anna and the French Kiss (what is WITH that title??) and of course I love Archer as well. All in all I loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone that is even slightly considering reading it. Don't be put off by the cover like I was :) Off to download the sequel!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It acomplished its purpose & was very straight forward, no beating around the bushes and too much useless introductions. In general I'd give it 3 stars, but because I rarely find a book with Islamic information thats short, clear and easy to understand, I give it 4.

Leslie (watchoutforlucy) THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES
By Sue Monk Kidd
4.5/5

I chose to listen to the audio book, and I wish I could tell you the name of the reader. What a wonderful story told in a delightful way. Almost perfect. Southern, families, adversity, inspiration, faith, helping others. Racial issues, small town setting.

Finishing the 3 books of the series with huge satisfaction, one could easily imagine the fourth to be no less than that. However, I was really disappointed, or at least for the first 200 pages of the book.

Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James
ratings: 4/5
my full review

This book is not less funny or romantic than its precedent. And I am already addicted to Julie James's book. She writes with such way that always amazes me. Also, She manages to bring more to the lawyers and to Romance and Women Fiction.

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins
ratings: 5/5

This story developed in ways I haven't expected. Its pace is sometimes cautious and thrilling in others. I really like that.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
ratings: 5/5
my full review

Suicide is a very sensitive issue to address publicly and literally and even when I know where I stand with this issue. And knowing the theme for this story to be this heavy, I prepared myself for tons of dramatic situations but what I found was something else.

I, Robot
Isaac Asimov
4/5

I'm not crazy about the style where a book is a collection of short stories linked by common characters. Even so, I still loved "I, Robot". It has completely changed how I view robots. Asimov has the amazing power of fleshing out the concept of robots in a way that is still relevant and even illuminating half a century after the time of his writing.

It's somewhat disappointing that the actual field of robotics lags so much behind Asimov's imagination.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (Hitchhiker's Guide, #4)
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish by Douglas Adams

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The fourth book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy, it's very different from the rest of the books in the series because it had bits of Arthur Dent's love life in it. Really liked it, but it's still not comparable to the first two books. It basically discusses one event and I read /almost/ all of it in under 24 hours.
The whole series is amazing and worth reading. I'm sad that I have only one book of it left unread. 3

Raya Al-Raddadi
4/5
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/67...

The Importance of Being Seven (44 Scotland Street, #6) The Importance of Being Seven by Alexander McCall Smith

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This type of book is exactly the kind of literature I use as snoozing pillows, full of lengthy dialogues and philosophical observations that I normally wouldn't enjoy. 'Normally' being the presumptuous word here, as I was fortunate enough to enjoy The Importance of Being Seven greatly. The characters were alive, their philosphical blatherings interesting, and the different perceptions wonderfully woven together.

I loved the residents of 44 Scotland Street, especially Bertie and Cyril. Bertie must be my favorite almost-seven boy, his mannerisms and observations were delightful. I wanted to wrangle his impossibly insufferable mother, Irene. The entire novel makes me want to fly over to Scotland right now.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to book the nearest flight to Edinburgh:D

Linah (liiiinahhh) Geek Love by Katherine Dunn

Easily the most twisted book I have ever read. The oddity of it was certainly appealing although at times, quite repulsive. This isn't a book for the light-hearted at all.

In a sense, it deals with carnival freaks and their physical appearance but what I think is the main theme throughout the book is the idea of truly being a freak from the inside (sort of). Overall, an original read.

I rated it 3 stars. My review.
