Lori (moderatrixlori) This is the fifth book in the series and is the story of the rage demon Cadeon and Holly Ashwin.

From Kresley Cole's website:

A ruthless demon mercenary. A lovely young halfling.

In the dark, he'll find her.

A seductive beauty he can never have, yet can't resist...
Cade of the rage demons will stop at nothing to atone for the one wrong that will haunt him forever. But once he secures the key to his redemption, the halfling Holly Ashwin, Cade finds that the woman he thought he could use for his own ends and then forget haunts him as much as his past.

A tormented warrior she should fear, but can't deny...
Raised as a human, Holly Ashwin never knew that some frightening legends are real until she encounters a brutal demon who inexplicably guards her like a treasure. Thrust into a sensual new world of myth and power, with him as her protector, she begins to crave the demon’s wicked touch.

Surrender to dark desires...
Yet just when he earns Holly’s trust, will Cade be forced to betray the only woman who can sate his wildest needs—and claim his heart?

Eastofoz Just loved this one! Cade was great and I could nearly "hear" him talking in that South African accent which made me love the character even more ;) He was such a badass/screw up but I loved what he did for Holly in the end :) You just wanted to squish Mr Bad Demon to death (lol!)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 13 comments Just finished reading this, and I thoroughly enjoyed Cade. There is something sexy about those "lickable horns"..LOL...and the expression "my demon." Makes me want to have one, too..LOL

Cassandra The episode of "Top Gear" I happened to watch the week I read this book featured a Bugatti Veyron (Rydstrom's car that Cade "borrows"). I don't really know cars that well, so it was really neat for me to be able to picture the car and actually know what it looked like. I was extra sad when it got smashed, though :( Those things are gorgeous.

Lori (moderatrixlori) You're not kidding Cassandra. They are the sexiest looking car I've ever seen and I can so see super hot Cade driving that bad boy. Yummy!

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 13 comments I googled Bugatti Veyron and I have to agree that car is hot!...I still smile everytime I remember Cade and Holly's expression of whose car is it..."NOT OURS!"...LOL...

Lauren | 34 comments This is the next one I have to read. I love when Nix describes him in the other books.

Christy Stewart (christyleighstewart) This is my only book on my OCD shelf.

Lauren | 34 comments ok i am about 150 pages into it and i love that she has OCD and that Cade is a mess.
who cares I guess when you have such lickable horns

Lauren | 34 comments I finished it, Loved it! So far this is my favorite. Cade is very hott!

Ilse Snell | 121 comments OE!!! no wait, i cant read this thread... my book is in the post, and i'm getting it in "T" minus 14 days!
Although, i by accident read the "kiss of a demon king" before all other Cole books, so i kinda know what's gunna happen.
Meh!

message 12: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 02, 2010 06:44AM) (new)

I cant wait!!! I heard the demon ones are great. I start this one tomorrow!

Coffeentea | 3 comments What made this one of my favorite books of this series is the tender caring way Cadeon treats Holly. Cadeon, the big bad mercernary, treats Holly with her OCD with such tenderness. He goes the extra miles to make her comfortable. Talking about the sexy sport car, what Cade and Holly did on it every 500 something miles is hot, hot, hot! Not to mention how sexy his horns are! Whew, I gotta go cool down.

Kim I loved it!!! Love Holly LOVE Cadeon!!!!! Now on Kiss of a Demon King.

Coffeentea | 3 comments Thanks, Kim. I live on coffee and tea, hahaha! I agree with you. I love Cadeon. If he's real, I'll lick his horns and..... ;D Hm, the next book I am about to read is Demon from the Dark.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Kim and Coffeentea, you really hit on why I love this book!

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Does it take long????? To get to the good parts????? You know like With Kiss of a Demon King? Cadeon and Holly was great because he had been watching her.....

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah..... got there ... it's getting good now....

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

He's not gona try and kill her is he......... I am on page 157 and getting REALLY nervous! So I stopped reading and came to the computer.......

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay done!!!!!!!! I loved it .... I loved them...... I love everyone ...who is left alive in this book...... where are their books???? There wasn't enough of Malcom and Carrow!!!!

Lynsey (lynseys) | 3 comments Oh wow...that bathing scene...

If page 157 is what I think it is, then keep at it Faithmarie - it is so worth it. Whenever I'm reading IAD and I come across something that I think 'oh no...he/she can't do that!', Kresley always saves the day with an amazing twist and never lets me down!

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah she does!!!!!!
Yes Page 157 ... I stopped reading for awhile to calm down. When I went back it turned in a completely different direction! I had a reprieve! And then the part where he could have killed her was so not as bad as I feared. I am on happily ever after discussion board also. I get too involved in my books. LOL I loved this book! But it left me hanging with all that was unfinished..... more than any of the other book.?.? Right? Where do I go from here. I bought book 11 but it is not out until February 2011. Now what will I read. I have to wait for this and Karen marie Moning's fever!

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I love to find book series' after they are all finished. I am impatient and can't stand to wait. I do that with TV series' if I like any.
I love Regin... oh and Nix too.
I can't wait for Lothaire!!!!!!!!

Why am I the only one that wasn’t in favour of Melkom?
I like it when me heroes ACT like Neanderthals… and aren’t real Neanderthals…
The communication barrier just weirded me out.

Alexa | 62 comments Quizz created about DDaD, under the tags of immortals after dark and kresley cole.
For everyone who enjoyed the story, hope you enjoy the quizz too!

Lauren (laurenjberman) Just finished Dark Desires After Dusk - I love the lighthearted fun of this series.

Loved Cade and Holly's steamy romances. They have great chemistry and their scenes together are HOT, HOT, HOT! I enjoyed the training sessions in particular.

Cade and Holly had wonderful chemistry indeed!

Kazza (kazzak) | 3 comments While Kresley Cole is one of my favourite writers, and can do no wrong, this book surprised me with just how awesome it was. Holly and Cade sizzled and it was so action packed. I loved it. Rydstrom and Sabine probably beat it, but by a bees knee.

Lauren (laurenjberman) I'm really looking forward to Rydstrom and Sabine's book, especially after that scene at the end of Dark Desires...

Kiss of a Demon King has a very different vibe. I can't wait to see what you think, Lauren!

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 77 comments I agree Danielle. Kiss of a Demon King was really different. I wasn't sure that I really liked either or the main characters in that one. But...I loved Cade and Holly in this book. This one is definately one of my favorites.

Charmer (+ Vibes Only) | 19 comments I just started this one and I really like Cade. Poor Holly w/ her OCD. I thought I was bad.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks Danielle and Jessica - I've got to read it soon.

Namita (-namita) I loved this book immensely. Cade. Yummy!!!

message 36: by Lulu (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lulu (lulululu) | 268 comments This is absolutely one of my favorite IAD books. I love Cade totally and his adorable, geeky, math professor Holly. They are such opposites. So cute how KC paired up Cade and Rydstrom with their total opposites.

message 37: by Namita (last edited Aug 14, 2013 03:50PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Namita (-namita) I haven't read Rydstrom's book yet. Looking forward to it. But my all time fave is definitely Trehan....*sigh*

And the MacRieves and of course Lothaire.

Marlene (missnewyorkxoxo) | 20 comments I love Cadeon Woede so much. This book was so addicting. I love the story, the romance and the characters individually. Holly is a great heroine and she is perfect for Cadeon. One of my favorite couples.

message 39: by Lulu (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lulu (lulululu) | 268 comments Me too! I love this book and re-read every year.

Sylri | 17 comments I hate to say that I didn't enjoy this one as much, I just couldn't get into the couple. I really wanted to... but something about Cade and Holly didn't click for me. I think it was mostly because of Holly. I started to like her a lot more towards the end of the book, but by then I was ready to move onto the next one. And I felt that the boyfriend character was handled rather lazily. Though I'm really looking forward to the next one after the little bit of Rydstrom in this book!

Kryptonite (sg34) | 88 comments I wasn't a fan after the first time I read it but changed my mind during the reread.

That's good to hear, I look forward to the reread!

Lu | 4 comments I am reading this book and it has been meh. I really like Cadeon but Holly is super irritating.

message 44: by Bree (new) - rated it 2 stars

Bree (breeshan) | 26 comments The bad guys were really creepy.

Sylri | 17 comments I agree. I think a lot of them were pretty unnerving, especially Groot. Not sure if he's as bad as Omort though. Ugh, did not like it whenever he was in a scene.... so creepy and gross.

message 46: by Lulu (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lulu (lulululu) | 268 comments He was creepy and gross and I loved what happened to him! (Don't want to spoil it for those of you who are still reading.)

Bree (breeshan) | 26 comments Omort is the one who made the sword, right? Yeah, he was bad:/

Jani | 7 comments So I feel like an actual idiot for a realization I just came to like a good few years after reading the Woede brothers books. I kept pronouncing Woede as “hoe’d” (bit with a w in front) until literally the other night I couldn’t sleep and the name suddenly popped into my head and I realized that Woede is the Afrikaans translation of Rage. Why does this make me dumb? I AM LITERALLY AFRIKAANS AND I SHOULD HAVE REALISED THIS THE MINUTE I READ THEY WERE HAD SOUTH AFRICAN ACCENTS. For anyone wondering it’s pronounced kinda like “vu-duh”.
