What do you think about Ferrin?

I love that too
I love that too
Also I thought that he was a traitor but then he sent Jason back so I think hes cool
I think Ferrin will die in the books.
I love Ferrin, I think he's a fascinating character, with really complicated incentives working in his decisions. Clearly, he's trying to do his job in spying on Jason and Rachel, but he also pretty clearly likes them and is trying to help Jason in his own way. (Forcing Jason to return to the Beyond really was probably in Jason's best interest and Ferrin ran an incredible risk helping him even that much.) And yet, because Jason took his hand with him, how will Ferrin explain that to the Emperor? I think this will force him to join Jason and Rachel in their quest.
Ferrin is a man of circumstance. I do believe that he's good. But he is also a realist. Making the best out of his situation.(And all that)He's interesting, I'd keep he around.
I was determined to hate him once it was revealed that he was a spy. I found it easy to hate him when he responded to Jason and Racheal's accusations with such smug answers and seemed to show no remorse. I was pleasantly suprised by his rescue attempt but not all suprised at his dismissal of why Jason said he needed to stay and his self-preserving reason to send Jason back. All in all..it is absolute greatness that Jason has his hand back in "our" world. Score one for the heroes!

Garret..think she means she could take 'em or leave 'em :D
Yeah! HATE Ferrin. For some weird reason I imagine hi with a cardinal bird's head and human body....Ach!*shivers*

Yes thank you very much. :) Ha ha! I like you Kimberlibri!
I think Ferrin was trying to do something good by sending Jason home, however, in the long run, I'm not certain if he will be good or bad.
He's a very complex character, which makes him intriguing. His role makes a lot of sense. I think it's refreshing that he has a realistic view and what he is. I thought it was incredibly intriguing how it turns out that the poor displacer on the White Lake is truly the only one that turns out to be a "traitor" to the emperor.

I personally loved his "smug answers." I really like it how he was honest with them, and said that he was will to pretend to switch sides.
On a last note, I hope Ferrin will join Rachel and Jason in the end but hopefully by next book, even if they don't believe him at the end of book two.

I.K.R.? Weird!
Casey wrote: "I like Ferrin. I was sad when he turned out to be an informer for the bad guys."I know, but I still love him.
I liked him until the traitor thing. Note to Brandon Mull.. can you quit it with the traitors/spies?? It seems like everyone in your books are traitors, it's kinda depressing.

Mattie wrote: "I was thinking Vanessa, but Gaven was evil too. Atleast Bracken turned out to be a good guy."Before I knew that Ferrin was evil, I told my freind that he was my favorite and she replied like when I told her I like Gaven so I figured out that Ferrin was evil too.
I also agree thank goodness Bracken was good.
I <3 Bracken....hope he does another series about Seth as the caretaker and Kendra/Bracken are still together....

Ferrin was definitely my favorite character. As soon as Malar told Rachel that displacers were spies, I actually said "Oh, snap!" out loud and continued ranting to my friends. I might have thrown the book at the wall if I had been in a place where I could make noise.
I thought he seemed so realistic. He liked Rachel and Jason, but he wanted to stay out of danger, and he wanted the best for them, too, so he still betrayed them. For me, that felt more heart-wrenching than one of those cold-hearted "I told you so" betrayals.

I haven't read book two yet( i really want to) but i really like Ferrin. i also like the thought of displacers, but it kind of makes me sad the way they are treated, and that they are like slaves to the people with magic.

i really like Vanessa, and i liked that she turned good in the end
P.S. I had this book that told what names mean, and Vanessa meant Butterfly.
So, for those of you who've read Chasing the Prophecy, did your opinions about Ferrin change?
Personally, (view spoiler)

I absolutely agree with you! I already loved his character, and the ending was fantastic in many ways, (view spoiler) .
Rebekah,My very best friend in the whole world's middle name is spelled the same way as your (I'm assuming, so forgive me if I'm wrong) first name. That made my day :)
Random person you don't actually know,
Naomi
Well..I don't know I loved him before I found out he was a traitor but then he was meant to be a spy but then he helped them out a lot and was willing to help Jason but agg!
I think he could be a really good guy, but he is just sucked into the bad world if that makes since?
I also think displacers are super cool but it's a bit creepy though xD
