Our local library, Crandall Public Library, is having an interesting event, called "Selected Shorts" this coming weekend, June 4th and 5th, 2011. The email I received says:

"Spellbinding short stories by established and emerging writers take on new life when performed by award winning actors of stage and screen."

The program is to be recorded for future radio broadcasts.

As of this posting, the event is sold out for Saturday, 6/3/11, but tickets are still available for Sunday, 6/4/11. It will take place in the Community Room of the library.

The e-mail I received says:
-Phone reservations cannot be taken after 5 PM Friday, June 3.
-Online reservations will be accepted until midnight Saturday, June 4.
-Walk-ins will be accepted at the door on Sunday, space permitting, beginning at 1:15 PM.

Reservations: $20 for one performance; $30 for both performances
Seniors 60+: $10.00 for one performance; $20.00 for both performances

The library ads around town show pictures of men's shorts with the headline: "Selected Shorts". Great idea as a mnemonic.
