Tell us your name (if you like, or an alias :), where you're from, what you do (authors: please plug your books here), what types of books you like (including all-time faves), that sort of thing. I'm Wendy, from Sandy, UT.....I'm a single, stay-at-home mother of 5. I graduated from BYU when Rex Lee was prez (don't do the math). I wasn't an English major, but I do love to read. I hoard books. Very embarrasing. I like historical fiction, the classics (the stuffier and more British, the better: Vanity Fair, Silas Marner, Tess & Jude, Howards End, Brideshead Revisited, etc.). I like LDS fiction in small doses, and most LDS doctrinal/cultural/biographical tomes. If anyone would be interested in doing a live, book group in SLC, let me know - I'll host.

Hi! I'm Teresa from Ohio. I've been married for about a year and am currently a senior at Kent State. I love to read and write but being an English major doesn't really allow much time for any of that. I will read anything. I recently finished the Hunger Games Trilogy and Paranormalcy. I'm really into YA fiction. This is my first group on good reads, and I am really excited!

I'm Jennie Hansen. I've lived in several western states, but I've been in Utah the longest. I'm married and have five grown children, four great sons-in-law, one dear daughter-in-law, and eleven grandchildren. I'm an author and my 22nd book, a romantic suspense novel, has just been released. It's called If I Should Die and is available at any bookstore that carries LDS books, both in print and in audio. It's also available for Kindle readers.

Hi Teresa and Jennie. Welcome! I've been on Goodreads for a while, but am still figuring out how it works. I'm not very techy, but I'm learning (one babystep at a time.)

I am married (since 2005) with no children at home. I have 3 grown stepsons (2 are twins) thanks to my husband, and 2 granddaughters. One more step- granddaughter will be added when one of the twins marries this year. Born in California but I've lived in Utah since I was 8. I've had a wonderful life. And, of course, I love to read and discover new lands and adventures through the books I read.

Welcome, Cathy. I think it would be fun to have twins if you got them when they were two or three so you weren't up with 2 babies at night, but then you didn't have to deal with that part. :}

Christy, no, I didn't, but I enjoy them now. They are fraternal. It's interesting to watch them, though, even in their adult years.

Like Jennie, I also had not noticed the Introduction section before. I published my first novel last summer: In the Days of Lachoneus . It is based on the period in the Book of Mormon when Zarahemla was being overrun by the Gadiantons. I started out wanting to just tell a good story, but it didn't take long for me to realize how truly relevant Lachoneus's experiences are to our own experiences today. Mormon knew exactly the conditions we would be facing in our world today when he included the events of Lachoneus's fight. He taught us how to fight terrorism, and we should pay close attention to the history of Zarahemla.

Thanks Paul. Actually I have another new book, just released this week, Three Little Words. It's a compilation of three novellas with Aubrey Mace and K.C. Grant. So far it's only on Amazon for e-readers, but should appear any day in print at bookstores.

Incidentally, who has read the Promised Land series by Woolley? I have just started the first book. For those who have already read one or more of the books, what did you think?

So do I - I've only read the first and started the second one at one time, but I loved what I read and have meant to get back to it. I picked up the 5th book at Seagull on their clearance table for little money, too, which was a bonus. I have put that second book back on my (long) list of 2016 books to read.

Jennie, I found your blog and your impressive list of books. You are obviously an accomplished author! What is your favorite book you have written? I will put it on my To Read list.

I'm afraid I'm one of those writers like a mom who can't name a favorite book anymore than a favorite child. Macady is probably my highest seller, but my newer books like Shudder, If I Should Die, and By the River are catching up. I write in several different genres so take your pick: Western, Historical, Suspense, Mystery, or Romance.

David, you might also like Sian Bessey's One Last Spring. It takes place in the 1880s in Wales and is very well researched.
