message 4: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (halfpint66) | 138 comments Yeah, but in some cases the hero forces the heroine to marry him for this or that reason.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I don't know that I've read any hr's with a forced marriage theme. Any rec's?

message 6: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments You know, just once I'd like to read a historical romance where the main couple is already happily married, and deal with some issue that married people sometimes have to deal with.

Debbie (halfpint66) | 138 comments I haven't read any historicals where the couple is already married, happily or otherwise.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I like
the different sides of the tracks
love/hate relationship as long as they get to the love before the end of the book lol
working together on a common goal (i.e. searching for missing person or something, foiling villain's plans)
kidnapped, captive/captor
rescued and nursing back to health
Alpha men and the spitfire gal that tames em
and more...

True! I don't like it if the whole book is just one big argument.

I went hunting through my books last night, and I have the second book in the Brides of Fortune series. I guess I'll be getting book one soon; I prefer to start at the very beginning of any series. Have you read that series yet?

message 17: by Zee (new)

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) No, I haven't. I've got her new Scandals series on my TBR

Megan | 1285 comments A great forced marriage book is A Rebellious Bride A Rebellious Bride by Brenda Hiatt (one of my favorites)

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I enjoy the theme of teaching a lesson. I really like the novels where the hero is a notorious womanizer who claims he'll never fall in love or be tied down, and the heroine decides she'll be the one to change his mind. I find the dialogue far more entertaining in those types of romances.
