Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I've only read The River Knows by Amanda Quick , and I really enjoyed it. The heroine wasn't annoying the way a lot of historical romance heroines can be. Has anyone read the Arcane Society series? I was thinking of starting this series soon.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments I've read and own just about everything that Amanda Quick/Jayne Ann Krentz/Jayne Castle has written. Obviously I love her stuff. Some are better than others, but her heroines aren't TSTL (for the most part). My favorites in her older books are Ravished by Amanda Quick and Dangerous by Amanda Quick . Her first AQ Arcane books are favorites of mine, too, especially The Third Circle (Arcane Society, #4) by Amanda Quick .

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments Thanks for the info Sandra J :) I didn't realize that she writes under three different names.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I just did a search to see how many books there are in the Arcane Society series, and saw that the books are written under her various pen names.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments Amanda Quick is the pen name she uses for her historicals. Jayne Ann Krentz is for her contemporaries, and Jayne Castle is for her futuristics. The Arcane Society books are loosely connected and can be read as stand alones. I think the first historical one is Second Sight (Arcane Society, # 1) by Amanda Quick . The nice thing about this author is that she's been writing for a long time and is quite popular. That means that you can find just about all of her books at the library.
