I know this is a bit early, but I want more people to throw out ideas for the July Book of the Month. Maybe something shorter/less serious this time, but possibly still with a Hollywood bent (being made into a movie, being made into TV show, already there, etc).

I'm going to throw out Divergent again because I want to see what all the hype is about and see if it really deserves the Hollywood treatment (even though I've been told it's average guilty pleasure stuff).

You have until June 25th to nominate and then we vote!

K. (aoutranc3) Snow Flower and the Secret Fan is being made into a movie. I've already read it, but I'd like to be able to discuss it anyway.

Jenna Green | 8 comments It's not on the lighter side, or much shorter (600 pages, it's a little bit shorter....), but I've been meaning to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for the longest time.

I've started that three times and never got further than 50 pages in. My dad, however, loves those books. He even has the copy I bought for myself on his bookshelf (I have a Kindle with the Kindle edition now).

Taylor (quietcoastline) | 106 comments I've actually started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo twice now but haven't made it more than a few pages in, so I'd be up for that.

S I vote Divergent because I was planning on reading it on July anyway :P

I'm just afraid that Divergent isn't going to live up to all the hype and everything, but if I'm going to read it, I want to read it in a group.

Voting begins in 6 days people! Remember to nominate or else we'll be voting between just a few novels that you might already despise!

I'm also going to nominate Darkfever by Karen Marie Moening because I realized I had a free copy sitting on my shelf from NY Comic Con that I forgot about.

And for my YA suggestion (well, another one), Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher.

I second this nomination. I haven't read it, it offers up some diversity, and it's relatively short compared to the other suggestions.

Ivy (aibiwashere) | 9 comments I wouldn't mind reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo since it's on my to-read list. I've been trying to get into reading series since it would keep me reading more. Hopefully I can finish my current book to start a new one by July!

Zoe Elizabeth (Booksatlunch) (booksatlunch) | 52 comments I would love to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It's been on my list for some time, and this would be a good excuse to read it.

Taylor (quietcoastline) | 106 comments Backing up Divergent and adding a few last minute suggestions:

A Visit from the Goon Squad
Room
Little Bee

I've had customers request those three a lot lately and have heard good things.
