Indian Readers discussion

Hope it's the right link, else just search for Indian Readers, it should have the same display-pic as the one we are using here. Also created an event on the FB announcing our group-meet, those of us who are more FB-savvy, 'like' the page, spread the word around to other book-lovers! Cheerio!

me too. I have joined facebook. But I prefer GR anytime. I barely go to my facebook

C'mon guys! why do you guys hate FB so much??

Because everybody can find you (also people you don't like), if you decide to not accept a friendship somebody could get offended; it steals time and is useless, at least for me. I had subscribed because a few friends had insisted, but after two weeks I cancelled because it is not for me.

I don't think so, it is not like facebook. There you have a lot of friends and it steals you a lot of time to read everything they write or they do or to answer them or to watch the videos they share. Here it is different and GR is more usefull because we share only one passion, reading, and we get a lot of suggestions for good reads and we have an exchange of views. In my opinion facebook is useless but of course for the use I would make of it; for somebody else it could be usefull because they can talk with relatives who live far away or organize meetings with friends. Here we must think and write; on facebook it is more only sharing things or only short messages.
Like everything on internet it is important how we use it; there are also interesting sites and these ones aren't a thief of time in my opinion.

Guys chill out, it's just a page on FB, and it's meant to only increase the popularity of our group. A 'page' on FB can never replace a community on GR. The page doesn't have much scope for discussion, we will be using the page mostly to publish/announce upcoming events/group-reads of our group. People have to still log on to GR to really be on the group. No need to feel insecure about it. I just hope more and more interested readers will get to know about our group via this 'page' on FB. At no point would we like to replace this with a community on FB. It just can't happen, at least for now!

We're just exchanging different points of view in peace ;-)

ya i know Dely, we are one of the better-behaved communities across GR. Maybe am just getting too paranoid about it :) But just wanted to clarify the intentions behind creating this, in the first place, that's all !!
