And now we come to the end of things.
Can't wait to see what you all think of the book now :)

Ned's dead! About time. But he should have spoken up and screwed Joff. Great time to start listening to advice you dumbass. My love for Arya grows, though.
And Joffrey may be the nastiest piece of work in this book apart from that little idiot at the Eyrie. I think Martin has a distinct hatred for Mamas' boys.
Did it pan out the way you thought it would? Any characters you changed your mind on by the end?
My most loved: 1. Tyrion (fabulous in every way)
2. Dany (best story arc, promises to keep me loving her)
3. Arya (just a cool girl all around. I wish she were my daughter, although one of my daughters is much like her)
4. Khal Drogo (fitting end to his life's pursuits, and he was cool)
5. Ned (but I am glad he got what was coming to him)
6. Cersei (loved her!)
7. Jamie (can't help liking him. Too bad his son is such a knob)
8. Varys (I want more and I do like him. Now for ...)
My Most Hated
1. Catelyn (I'd much rather Cersei was my Mom than this idiot. Rickon's madness is your fault crazy woman, as is Ned's death, Sansa's predicament, Arya's flight, Robb's war, Jon's whinging, and I'm sure there's something to blame you for when it comes to Bran. God I hated her.)
2. Jon Snow (I liked him at the stary and was pretty tired of him by the end. Waaaaaaah! Get over it you whiner. Live up to your oath and shit it!)
I'm glad you've come around on Jon Snow. He's just such a crybaby sometimes that I hated him for a while.
He grows in the rest of the books, though he still has some whine in him.
Are you going to catch up with the rest of the series now, before A Dance With Dragons hits shelves?

Yep, the Daenerys ending was cool, have to read Clash of Kings now.Thought the execution of Ned was well done, to see it from Arya's POV in the crowd. I'll be interested to see if Sansa's charachter changes, I'd like to thik she'd be up for some revenge later in life.
The whole King piece is interesting too, now that Renly's claimed the crown, and not his brother!! Also that Rob is now regarded as King of the North.
Can't wait to see how Tyrion will follow Tywins instructions... this be will so interesting (he is the best character).
I still really like Jon Snow. He's made mistakes (and whinged) yes, but I feel there a great things for him ahead, and I'm sure he'll kick some ass at some time.
I'd really like a major heroic figure to come through soon (maybe this will be Dany), but I'm not sure this is the style of the book. Anyway, its a fantastic book and I'll keep reading the series if the rest is even half as good as this.
I hear it falls down in the fourth installment, but that the first three are all of the same calibre. Looking forward to the journey regardless.
Honestly, the fourth book isn't so much a letdown, as it is a change in view.
Most people don't like it because their favorite characters don't get any pov chapters. But it's still very good.

For the most part, the main ones stay the same. You'll get a few new ones here and there, though.
I'm re-reading book 4 now, and I like it a bit less than the first three, maybe not so much for the changes in POV (though I miss some of my favourites), but I really feel GRRM sold one of them short. (view spoiler)
Book 4 is too far ahead to think about now...I'll just be pleased if the next book is as good as the first, and by all accounts it is! :) Can't wait to find out what happens with Dany and her dragons, and whats in store north of the wall!!!
Next book is great. Third book is a monster, but still great too.
I'd like to see the TV series, waiting for it to come out on blue-ray. How does the TV series stack up vs the book?
Plenty of changes so far (I've only just seen episode 6), and there is plenty of stuff that is either apocryphal or taken from another source that I've not yet read, but it seems to be faithful in spirit.
Some stuff has been changed to work better for TV (less direwolves, for instance), and some stuff is imported from later books, and some of the changes are a mix of both. So far it's true to the spirit of the books as well as to the major plot points, and the casting is also very good so far. :)
That was definitely one of the most awesomest endings EVER! Now I want to read the next book. Before I was annoyed, but now I want to KNOW!
ahahaha
And here I thought you weren't going to like them

Yeah, there's a lot of things I didn't like; like a whole TON. But Dany just made a strong comeback. She was most favorite character before, but now she's like *bows down to the awesome dragon queen*p.s. I get what y'all mean with whiney Jon now too. :P
Daenerys is indeed a badass.
And I am well pleased that you have both come around on the "Jon is whiny" front.

Brad wrote: "HA! Nice. Jon is a dick so far ... "I saw this on my update feed without reading the subject and thought WTF?
Just a reminder that the world does NOT revolve around me. :)
When I first saw that quote of what I said, I thought, "NO! Jon, I didn't mean you." But then I sighed in relief as I saw the rest. I imagine that would be a bit of a shocker.
I, for one, was talking about you.
whiner

Listened to Luke Burrage's SFBRP episode about A Game of Thrones and its worth listening to for how he predicts the series will play out and who will end up on the throne solely off of the first book.
