Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) What does Jane Austen have to do with the Romantic poets or am I missing something?

Kim (kimmr) Robin, I haven't read the book, but it is apparently a work of literary criticism arguing that Jane Austen's later works (ie. Emma, Mansfield Park and Persuasion) are influenced by her reading of the romantic poets, specifically Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, and Scott.

Here's a link to a review of the book in a 2005 Jane Austen Society of North America publication. It sounds quite interesting. Possibly another book to add to my ever-increasing to-read list!!

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) okay, now I get it, just didn't see what one had to do with the other. I guess they had some influence on her work, esp. Persuasion, which I think is utterly romantic.
