Alice sat down next to Joe. "Oh my god! Julie, that looks so realistic! Julie, that's amazing. You are awesome!"

Charles sat down next to Alice. "Umm, Alice, your hair is a little messy. . ." he started to murmer, then cut off.

Daniel nodded at Julie. "That's how you get better and better at anything-suggestions. I mean Charles' movies are amazing after all suggestions. Don't think we are critising your work!"

"Thanks, Alice! Growing up with nothing but paint, construction paper, and crayons really helps. Oh, and Daniel, thanks. Suggestions really help," Julie said, smiling.

Cary wasn't paying attention, he had started spacing out and starting at Julie. What he wouldn't do to start dating her. But why would she ever want to date the kid with the fireworks?

Joe discreetly creeped his hand towards Alice's, keeping his eyes on Julie's drawing.

"There!" Julie exclaimed, holding up a rough portait of the beast. "I wonder how many paintings there will be of this thing in this town after we're considered a post-apocalyptic suburban."

Alice nodded at Julie. "What do you mean? You haven't had proper tools?" Alice looked down and coughed. She longed to fit her hand perfectly in Joe's hand, but she couldn't. She knew that he didn't like her the same way he did, and her dad would never approve.

Charles knew what Joe was doing. "Joe, can I talk to you for a minute? Please? Over here?" Charles said, getting up and motioning away.

Daniel started giggling at Charles' lame excuse for getting Joe away from Alice.

"Nowadays, I can con my brothers into giving me money. Just give my deaf brother the wrong information that the blind one couldn't give him, and have him count the wrong bills for the blind guy who can't see which bills he's giving me. It's kind of mean, but I can afford the good clay and not the crappy kind that cracks up in the kiln." Julie said.

Joe followed Charles. "What is it?" He said, confused.

Cary scooted closer to Julie. It was kind of creepy, but he loved the way she always smelled like paint and clay and such.

Alice nodded. "You're so mean!" she said teasingly. Alice started laughing.

Daniel looked at Cary, eyes wide, eyebrows raised, as if to say Are you gonna make a move yet?

Charles glared at Joe and smacked him. "Are you insane? Alice Dainard? Dude, she's not gonna like you! I asked her to do this movie so I could get to know her, not you! And will your dad or her dad allow this, considering what happened. . . ." Charles hissed, trailing off.

Julie laughed along with Alice. "At least I don't take a lot... Well, normally it's at least fifteen dollars." She said, laughing more.

Cary bit his lip. He knew what Daniel was trying to say. Cary nodded, wondering what he should do. "Julie, can I borrow your sketchpad for a minute?" He asked.

"Yeah, sure." She said, handing him the sketchpad. He turned the page, started writing, and ripped it out. He folded it up and handed it to Daniel, then handed the pad back to Julie, who put it in her bag.

Joe slapped Charles back. He was overcome with anger.... He didn't know what to say. Eventually, the words came. "You're acting like a Jealous idiot!"

((The note said "What should I do?" :P 'Cos I can't think of anything better.))

Alice nodded. "Sure!" she said teasingly. She looked around, glanced up at the sun and down at her watch. "Sorry! I have to go! Dad's gonna get sober soon, and if I'm not there. . ." her voice trailed off. "Bye!" she called and started walking.

Daniel took one look at the note and shrugged. 'Ask her!' he mouthed, 'On a date!' "Just try!" he said aloud.

Charles coughed. He balled his fists and held them up. "You will regret this, Lambchop. But look, you're too late. She's leaving. Alice!" he called, "mind if I walk you home?"

Alice shook her head. "I don't care."

"Bye Alice!" Julie said, smiling and waving. Then she heard Daniel. "Try what?" She asked, confused.

"Um... Julie? Would you like to... go out with me, tonight?" Cary asked, shyly. He wasn't normally shy, but he felt weird right now. He felt like he was gonna hurl... in a good way.

Julie was taken aback by this request but she smiled. "Yeah, that sounds great! Where should we go?" She asked. This was the moment she had been waiting for since 1st grade. Cary looked at Daniel for help. He made a face that seemed to ask 'Where should I take her?!'

Joe gave Charles a dirty look, and walked away. He walked past Daniel, Cary, and Julie, and said "I'm going home." He sounded particularly upset, but Cary and Julie didn't notice.

Daniel shrugged. Maybe the arcade (Sorry, not sure. . .) he seemed to say-he didn't know, because he didn't have a crush. Daniel longed to have a crush on someone. It wasn't fair the Cary and Julie liked each other and Alice, Joe and Charles liked each other.

Charles raced after Joe, forgetting Alice. "Buddy, wait. I said stop!"

Alice started running home.

Cary thought that Daniel had a great idea. He'd known Julie for years-- She'd love a date to the arcade. "Um, how about the arcade? And pizza afterward?"

"Yeah, sounds great, Cary," Julie said, smiling.

Joe stopped in mid-path. He didn't dare turn around. He just sat there, waiting for Charles to talk.

((If you want, I can make a girl for Dan. :P))

Charles started, "I am sorry. Jeaslousy over took me. Forgive me." he started blabbering on.

Daniel yawned at the love fest.

Cary took Julie by the hand, and they walked off to the Arcade.

Joe turned around, and smiled. "I know what it's like. Jelousy can turn your whole world upside-down. I forgive you."

((What do you want her name to be? Any specific personality traits or appearance?))

Charles smiled and patted him on the back. "Thanks man!" Charles looked at him. "You can have Alice. 'Kay?"

"You know, we're treating Alice sort of like an item. Why don't we let her choose?" Joe said, smiling at his friend. He wanted Charles to at least feel like he had a chance with Alice.

Charles smiled. "Okay, but the other person has no hard feelings, right? Do you promise? I promise." Charles sighed. "What if she doesn't want either of us?"

Daniel had caught up to Charles and Joe. "How'dya do on this fine evening?"

"I promise. If she doesn't want either of us, no hard feelings then, either." Joe said, when Daniel came up. "We're doing better."

Veronica was walking down the street, trying to find the best place to eat. She was tired of having popcorn for dinner, since her family moved in two days ago and still hadn't done proper grocery shopping.

Daniel smiled at them, then his gaze was caught by Veronica. "Hey, Joe, who's that?" He pointed at Veronica. Man, she was ho-ot.

Charles looked at where Dan was pointing. "Never seen her before. She's weird looking. Where is she from Joe?"

"I think she's that girl that moved in down the street. Why?" Joe asked Daniel.

Veronica gave up looking for a decent restaurant, and decided to ask people for reccomendations. But who was she supposed to ask? Everyone here was a complete stranger.

Daniel shrugged. "Curious. She looks lost. Should we go ask if she needs help?" he said, wanting to talk to her.

Charles noddeed, realizing he was love struck.

Veronica sat down on a bench, and sighed. She didn't know anyone here. She was lost. If only there was someone to help her find her way around town...

Joe followed them.

Daniel walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. "I am Daniel, that is Charles," he said motioning to Charles, "and the other one is Joe. Do you need any help?" he stuttered.

Charles laughed at Daniel's failed flirting attempts.

Veronica smiled. "Yeah, thank God! I'm practically starving, and sick of popcorn for dinner. We just moved in two days ago, so my mom told me to scope the place out and find a decent restaurant. No luck, so far." Veronica said, smiling. Then she met Daniel's eyes, and a chill went down her spine. She blushed. "I-I'm Veronica, by the way."

Daniel stopped and thought. "We have a pizza place and a diner. That's pretty much it, sorry. And nice to meet Veronica. That's a pretty name. The diner is two blocks down and on the left, pizza place is two blocks up, one left and on the left side. There is arcade right next door. Want me to guide you?"

Charles started nodding and nudged Joe to do the same.

Joe smiled and nodded along.

"Pizza sounds great!" Veronica said, and lept up from the bench.

Daniel grinned. "Do you want me to lead you there? And Joe or Charles, wanna come?"

Charles smiled, but shook his head. "Naw, Mom's probably making something. I should get going."

Joe followed Charles. "Yeah, we'll just leave you two alone." He said, and smiled.

Veronica smiled at Daniel. "I guess it's just us! Let's go," She said, taking him by the hand.

Dainel blushed slightly, but didn't remove his hand. "Okay, great. What do you want, my treat?"

"I'm not picky, anything will do," Veronica said, blushing. Daniel was really cute.

Julie and Cary sat down at the crosswalk, and he put his arm around her. It was a little chilly, for early June.

Alice raced off, leaving Daniel strolling beside Veronica. Alice needed to see Joe. Racing past his house and to the station, Alice arrived, out of breath.

Alice and Daniel arrived, walking home.

Charles arrived, smiling at Julie.

Julie frowned at him for a moment, in a I-know-what-you're-up-to-and-I-don't-like-it gesture, but then smiled. Sure, he was a sucky friend, but sometimes he could be nice... ish.

Charles smiled, "ya know, Cary's pretty bummed at you," he said, once they were nearing Julie's house.

"Yeah. Why?" Julie asked.

"Umm. . .reasons. . . ." Charles sighed.

Charles frowned, let Julie off at her house, err at least close to it, and walked to see Alice's new neighbors.

Julie sighed. Chrles must have told him something... right?

Alice raced home.

Charles raced home.

Veronica and Julie walked to Charles' house.

Cary ran into Joe on the way to Charles'. Veronica lived closer to Charles than Joe, so Julie and Veronica would surely beat them there.

Codie began trudging towards Charles' house.

Joe and Cary were walking towards the town. Joe was helping Cary come up with an apology for Julie.

Alice arrived, and so did Drew. "Hi Joe, Cary!"

Joe smiled. "Alice... hey!"

Alice grinned and rushed over to Joe. She enveloped him in a big hug. "Joe!"

Jow hugged her back, lifting her up off the ground a bit.

Cary stood there, smiling. It had made him think of Julie. Then he remembered how rude he'd been to Julie last night. "Alice, y'know where Julie's at?"
