I've never read any of her books, but have been meaning to. I figured that if it became July's month read, I would be more motivated to read it :)
Rosanna wrote: "Cat: 2 A Good Man is Hard to Find by Flannery O'Connor."oooooh great book! I havn't read it in years!
Leslie T. wrote: "Cat 2 - The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck"Anything Steinbeck is good for me :)

I am a Tropper fan, but this is not his best work. I much preferred The Book of Joe and .How to Talk to a Widower, both of which I adored.

Should The Great Gatsby be in Category 2?
Okay, we need a couple more votes for Lighthouse, 'cause I really don't want to read Grapes for a third (or is it fourth??) time. Please? *Whimper* ;)
July's group reads winners are in!!!
The Wind Up Bird Chronicle
and
To the Lighthouse
and let's not forget our author/reader novel Eden Lake!!!!

The categories going forward will remain as follows (based on your feedback):
Cat1- Regular Fiction/Non-Fiction
Cat2- Classics
In order for a novel to count as "Classic" it must be published pre-1980.
Only ONE nomination per person.
If you nominate a book for catagory 1, you CANNOT nominate a book for catagory 2, and visa versa.
Please be sure to post the title, author, and the catagory it belongs to.
Ideally, you can type it as follows -
Cat 1. Room - Emma Donoghue
If your post does not have those three things, it will not be counted.
Are you ready?
I will accept nominations through Saturday. If we get tons of nominations, I may pull the plug on it a little early, so get them in as soon as you can!
Once I close nominations I will create the polls and let you know when it is time to vote!
Hit us with your best noms!
