((Yum.))

After they were finished with the arcade, Cary and Julie came in and found a seat in a booth. The waiter came up and took their order. It was the usual; pepperoni, cheese-filled crust.

Daniel walked in with Victoria, chatting. He asked for a table and waits-all while smiling at Victoria

Veronica smiled at him. The waiter led them to their booth, which was coincedentally across from Cary and Julie's. Cary looked over at them. "Julie, look, it's Daniel, with some girl... do we know her?"
"Yeah, I think she's in the band at school..."
"No, you're thinking of Cathy Shwarts."
"Oh. Then we don't know this chick."

Daniel thanked the waiter. "Any salad or anything besides pizza? What would you like to drink?" Daniel was captured by her eyes

Veronica kept staring into his eyes, even when she was answering the waiter. "I'll have a Pepsi."

Julie smiled. "At least she has good taste in soda. What do you say we intrude on their date?"
"Are you sure?" Cary asked, reaching across the table for her hands. "Ours is going pretty great."
"When did you, of all, people, become such a romantic?" Julie asked him.

"Water, for me please." Joe told the waiter, not looking away from Veronica. Daniel hears Julie and Cary and looked across. "Julie? Cary?" he asked

Julie and Cary, still holding hands across the table, looked at them, as if they hadn't even noticed and their conversation the last three mintues wasn't about Daniel and Veronica. "Oh, hey, Daniel! Who's this?" He said, gesturing to Veronica.

((Ooops. stupid me. kitty smacks self on head))

Daniel smiled. "This is Veronica, she's new in town. Veronica, this is Julie and that is Cary," Daniel said motioning to each person.

((Victoria? XD))

Veronica smiled. "Hi!"

"Nice to meet you!" Julie said. "I like your shirt."

"Thanks."

Cary leaned over to Daniel. "I wanted to thank you, man. This has been the best date ever."

((STOOPID KITTY!!!!!))

Daniel grinned at Cary. "You're welcome. I can tell Julie is enjoying it, too." Daniel's gaze went back to Veronica .

Veronica's gaze went back to Daniel the same time his went back to her.

Cary smiled at Julie. "So. What do you want to do after dinner?" He asked, picking up a slice of pizza.
"Beats me. We could offer to double up with Daniel and Veronica." She responded, halfway through slice number 2.
"Maybe we could go to the movies or something."
"What's playing?" Julie asked, and then they resumed the conversation.

Veronica took a sip of her Pepsi. "So, how do you know them?" She said, gesturing to the pair across from them.

"School. They are two of my friends. I'll take you to meet the 'group' later. Where'd you move here from? And why here? Not that I am not glad or anything. I mean just out of all the places, why here?" Daniel asked, trying make conversation.

"Ah. Well, we did live in Minnesota. You know, five miles south from freezing to death, five miles north from boring to death. Not exactly an ideal place to live. So, my father looked at job transfer listings, and transferred to the post office here." Veronica said, smiling.

Daniel nodded. "What does your mom do?" he asked cautiously.

"She's a stay-at-home mom to my 3-year-old little brother, Jack. He's a nightmare," Veronica said, laughing.

"Nice," Daniel said, wondering about a mom. He had never had one, because he and his dad had left her. "Umm, sorry to be pushy with all the questions, but one more. How's it like having a mom? I mean, umm, I have never had one, so, I was just wondering." Daniel held his breath, he sounded like a dork. Dork, dork, dork! he told himself.

Veronica was surprised. "Oh... I'm so sorry..." She said, feeling sorry for Daniel. "It's... nice. It gives you a sense of safety and security. I suppose I've always taken my mother for granted..." She reluctantly admitted. "But they can be quite a nag." She finished, with an attempted joke.

Cary smiled as they finished the six-slice pizza they ordered. "Here, I'll go up and pay," he said, getting up. He came back, two minutes later, with a recipt in hand. He sat back down. "So, wanna go to the movies?"
"It sounds good to me!" Julie replied. The pair got up and left.

Daniel shook his head. "Don't be sorry. I am annoyed when so many other kids walk up to me, and say, 'Oh, I heard about your mom, I am so sorry.' It's better that she didn't actually die. My father walked out on her when I was 3 months. Joe is the one you should be sorry for. His mom died 4 months ago-early February. How can they be a nag?" Daniel coughed. He hoped he didn't sound like a dork. Or he was speaking too much.

"Joe? Oh, one of those guys from before!" Veronica said. "You know, just stuff like when my room is half decent, and my mother walks in and says to clean it more." She said imitating her mother, then laughing.

Daniel, not knowing what to do, smiled, nodded and pretended to laugh. Daniel, stopped and half smiled to himself. "You're an awesome girl, you know that, right?" Daniel stopped, and before he could think, blurted out, "what's your boyrfriends' name?"

Veronica smiled. "Thanks," She was taken aback by his second question. "I'm honestly single right now." She said, and praying that he would ask her out.

Daniel smiled. "Umm," he said, "Would, you," Daniel gulped, "like to go. . . out?" Daniel half smiled, making creases next to his eyes.

Veronica blushed tomato red. "Yeah!" She said, a little too quickly, but she didn't care. She was way too happy right now.

Daniel grinned. "Great! When, tomorrow night? And should I get you?" He wanted to pump his fist up and down. He wanted to hug her. And, most of all, he wanted to kiss her.

Veronica was practically glowing. "Tomorrow night sounds great!" She wrote down her adress on a napkin, and it was coincdentally across the street from Joe's house. She handed him the napkin and smiled.

Daniel took the napkin with a grin. "Great!" He longed to ask more. Again he wanted to hug her, and kiss her. But he could only watch from afar.

Veronica would've loved to kiss him. Today was one hell of an awesome day. She found a good restaurant, and a boyfriend.

Daniel smiled, staring into her eyes, lost in thought. He reached across the table and tucked her hair back behind her ear.

((I guess so. :P))

Veronica leaned closer across the table. Without thinking, she leaned in further, and kissed him.

Daniel looked suprised at first, then relaxed at kissed her back. Daniel grinned, happily. Yes! he thought.

Joe awkwardly walked in while Daniel and Veronica were kissing. He walked up to their table, and just sort of stood there.

Veronica pulled back when she realized Joe was there. "Hi... you were... Charles, right?"

((Should we start heading to the Train Station to make the movie? :) ))

Daniel half smiled. "No, Veronica, that's Joe. Charles is coming. You can see him outside."

Charles walked in just as Daniel finished speaking. "Guys! Movie time! We need to get Alice"

"And Cary, and Julie," Joe added. "I'll try calling Cary. Hopefully he's home by now." He walked off to the pay phone and punched in Cary's number. He came back five minutes later. "Cary's gonna get Julie, and they're meeting us at the crosswalk."

Daniel nodded. "Great. Me and Veronica will go get Alice."

Veronica nodded and smiled. She was on a roll with the whole making-friends thing. She followed Daniel out of the restaurant.

Daniel grinned and held out his hand. "You're gonna love Alice. She is so nice!"

Veronica took his hand and smiled as they strolled out of the restaurant.
