Summers going well? I started my summer job and it is flying. The past two days have been AMAZING outside-work-days.

message 2: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments Mine sure is! Well, kinda. It's so busy with softball(I played 8 games just this past weekend...). And then this week I'm a CIT at the Spring Hill camp they're doing at my church from 8:30 -4:30 everyday. But to top all this off, I'm so sunburned that my face is starting to blister. I always forget to put on sunscreen till it's too late. But my farmers tan is looking mighty fine ;D

I've got a great farmers tan going on as well, but I remember the sunscreen.

What is CIT?

message 4: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments CIT stands for counselor in training. &I have sunscreen in my bag, I just don't exactly remember to put it on. lol

I've been taking a class at Bethel College that finished today. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time outside yet, but the topics in my class were amazing (from a teacher's perspective).

message 6: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
That's cool. What were some of the topics?

Remember to wear the sunscreen. :)

message 7: by Heather (new)

Heather (hschoenh) | 94 comments Mod
Topics included autism, English language learners, response to instruction, bullying... They were great seminars with excellent presenters.
(Now that I'm outside, I'll be wearing the sunscreen!!)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Mine is pretty good so far. It's been a little stressful. I'm learning a little Esperanto online and I have a few depressed friends and I've been helping them with that.

message 9: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
Esperanto, huh? What's that?

There's a girl I work with that has Aspbergers. I could have used that seminar.

message 10: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Esperanto is a constructed language, made in 1887, designed to be an international language that anyone could learn with ease.

Jimmy, that's really interesting. You are an amazing young man. :)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
No kidding, good luck.

message 13: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments Wow. I would prolly fail at doing that. So have fun!:)
ps; Jimmy are you in AP or honors classes?

message 14: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Yeah, I am in honors Alebra II and honors Biology I. I decided not to take Honors English and AP world civilizations.

message 15: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments Ohh geez. I feel dumb because im taking all 4 of those classes and I only know of like 2 other people doing the same...

message 16: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Or maybe... you are extremely smart. I didn't take honors English and AP world civilization because my ideal job, engineering, would take a lot less knowledge in English and Social Studies.

message 17: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments Not really! haha &got it.

message 18: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Well you are still smarter than me for taking those classes. Well either smarter or more foolish. My money's on the first one though.

message 19: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments Idk which one. I'm just scared because some of the smartest people opted out of taking them because apperantly a couple years ago 50% of the kids failed those classes. Or at least that's what someone told me...

message 20: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments 50%! Wow. But don't believe everything you hear.

message 21: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
I don't doubt that you'll both excel in all your classes. : )

message 22: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments They said Mrs.Seager, our consouler from 7th grade, told them that. But I still kinda doubt that it's true. &Thanks Mr.H!

message 23: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Thanks too Habecker. But yeah, 50% seems too high to be possible. So don't be worried Brittney, you are one of the smartest soon-to-be-freshman, so you will probably do great.

message 24: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
... Probably? ... PROBABALY Jimmy? : )

message 25: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments ...Touche

message 26: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
: )

message 27: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments haha thanks for the encouragment Jimmy!:)

message 28: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments No problem. That's what I do.

message 29: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments So is anyone going to parties or having parties for the 4th of July? By the time everyone sees this it may be over...

message 30: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments I am not. I have quite a blasé life when it comes to holidays. They are just like any other normal day.

message 31: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
I was in Florida, but no party. : (

message 32: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments You were still in Florida. Consider yourself lucky.

message 33: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
I do, though it was pretty hot.

message 34: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments What language is blasé from? &did you both at least get to see other peoples fireworks?

message 35: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Blasé is from French. I've seen it written with and without the accent. And yes I did, they had a fireworks show during the 2nd at the campground I went to.

message 36: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
Nope. No fireworks, but I did go out on a boat and saw a sea turtle and some dolphins. And a stingray.

Also, a manatee, but that was at a manatee park, so it wasn't wild. ...Almost as good as fireworks.

message 37: by Brittney (new)

Brittney | 288 comments Cool beans to both of you in that matter!

message 38: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments There's a new country today. South Sudan just seceded. There are now 204 countries now.

message 39: by Philip, co-moderator-raider (new)

Philip (philiphabecker) | 391 comments Mod
Well good for them. : ) I bet West Sudan follows.

message 40: by Jimmy (new)

Jimmy converse (nbj55) | 359 comments Yeah, Darfur needs to secede, then maybe the genocide would at least slow down, and hopefully stop.
